I must be dumb. I have the program downloaded and installed correctly. Ive been through the manual, but I still don't know what to do! All the manual does is tell me what button does what. Is there a tutorial that can take me through the steps of setting it up and running it?

. But I'll tell you what I did. You load the app start the EU and you go mining you have to find a claim to set everything up, so mine until you have a claim. If you use vista or xp don't forget to set the compatibility mode with windows 2k. Irken Invaders - NRF When you finally have found a claim open the claim deed (this sheet of paper that pops out) and make sure that you dont move the window with the info and try to open and close it couple of times so you see that it always open on the same position on the screen (btw it needs to be open on the tab with the info about depth and stuff). Now as you have that opened press "p" on the keyboard to display your current position and here make sure that the info stays at the very bottom of the chat window (nobody says anything etc) if it does press "0" from the numeric keyboard. Click to enlarge Now you can switch to NRF and see if the screenshot is captured properly under the "image loader" tab if it is go to settings tab and fill out "additional information" (this is not crucial but it will help you document your runs. Now the most important part - "color settings" tab. First of all click on "show example overlays" (red text should appear) and then slide the "color deviation" bar all the way to the right. You can click on the "color pick" tool just to see that those are your screenshots (but click on it again to turn it off). Now take a look at the "chat preview" window (the first one). You have to match the text in the red with the text in the white from your screenshot so it looks like this: Click to enlarge (notice also that the text is recognized in the window to the right) and not like this: Click to enlarge To put it simply it has to be pixel perfect. Now that you have that done you need to match the text from the "detail panel preview". Now this is a bit tricky because the text "account balance" isn't actually present anywhere on your screenshot (maybe it was in the previous versions of the game...). It will be best to explain this by a screenshot: Click to enlarge As you can see you have to match the red text with the first line form the details list. It only need to be matched vertically as the horizontal alignment doesn't matter that much (as long as it isn't cut by the edge of the window). Now all you have to do is to use the "pick color" tool and pick the colors . You need only 3 colors to get the app working with mining properly that are:-system (you take it from the "your position" text) -text (that's the blueish text in the details panel) -legend (the white text in the details panel) Now you can slide the "color deviation" slider to the left so there is no noises surrounding the text (if there is any). Mine is at 3.92%. If all the text is recognized you are now ready to go for your first hof (i got mine the first time i started using this app ). To record your runs just press "p" every time you drop a bomb and if you don't find anything you press "1" from numeric (but remember that your coords have to be in the first line of the chat window). And if you find something you open the claim deed and press "0" from numeric (you don't have to display your coords in the chat box because they are already in the doc)Don't worry if the app sometimes doesn't record a drop - it sometimes happen to me when I alt+tab back and forth I hope this little guide will help everybody that can't configure the app properly. Good luck with your mining and see you in the game!! Last edited by Shambo; 02-08-2008 at 11:12. |

Sorry for the slow and long wait and no updates or replies. I have been taking a break from EU the past 6 weeks or something like that. After 3 years of reasonably activivity in EU I really need it...
So far nobody replied to my request for more programmers. Either they cant deal with the enviorment or my request was to much to ask for. I fear that someone that could live up to the request is the only person that might be able to ensure a future for NRF. Adding small features etc is nice, but without someone capable of maintaining the core ( the parsing of the screenshots ) NRF will die slowly. I still hope there is someone can do the job. I have been testing several options for the parsing of the skills. Testing based on image comparing and even found some GNU ( or GPL or something ) OCR routines that are slower but seem to work really nice. The last will make configuration for the user ( you peeps ) harder and its a reason i have been doubting to use it. My break from EU put everything on hold though. Many thanks for the people helping the ones with questions in this thread. I hope to get back to you guys with a nice update that will fix the skill-parsing... Its just on hold. |

Whenever you start NRF it automatically loads the previous logs; but since you don't have any when you first run the app this pops up. Just save an empty log of both - mining and skills and you won't see it anymore...

Running Vista 64-bit. Running EU and NRF in windows 2000 compat. mode.
I have my hotkeys set to num 1-4 and tried save screen/capture screen checked and not check, but the only way I can get an image to appear in the image loader tab of NRF is by saving and opening one manually, and even then i can get anything to parse off it. Running window mode (and i get the message 'window found' for entropia universe window). So my question is, does anyone else use NRF successfully on vista64bit? If so, why won't NRF capture/parse anything at all? -Ender |
