I posted them a question about scopes and lasers a while ago. They have different wording, but basically mean the same thing. There's a thread about it somewhere on EF. Thread is at Lasers & scopes |

@viagra: that could also mean we should shoot the nexus instead of refining it?
@sarah: now i got what u said, sincerely, i thought u just want to contradict me :-) @davej: well, dave, my theory is that the detection range is growing with skills and better tools. knowing a "detonation" range which would be the maximum limit of the detection range i find useful. i tend day by day to think, as i said in a previous post, that the detection works just like a rifle: now u give 20 dmg (30m range), now 40 dmg (60m range) and so on. last evening i had a signal at 55 m and one at 57, both with probes. i wait to become an uber miner and, after 2 years, to see if i ever get a signal at 70m. on the flipside, even if it would sound bitter, i don't believe anything what older miners say. i met one or two who were nice and open to discussion, with another one i talked only by pm and also was open. the rest who i met.. blah... so that is why i test and test and test and talk on the forum. to get all little experienced and wanna be miners coagulated and try to educate a common base of knowledge. that was a little explanation for this thread ![]() thanks everyone who made the effort to follow the thread. regards, K |

that is why I suggested you should put a lil bit more value on what Etopia has said. that 57m detection distance is the same for a noob with no skills and tt tools. If you go to the opposite side of the deposit and blast mark, you will find that the farthest you can detect it (from that side) is 43m. Just because you get a reading 57m away doesnt mean your detection radius is 114m...it just means you are on the long end (side) of the slope. ...for some, this is already a tested and proven fact. Though I cant speak as a very skilled miner, I am barely a qualified miner @ ~2k mining, ~700 prospecting, ~700 geology. You may call the detonation radius of the bomb 100m, but it still translates down to what has been said since day 1... you are still only 50m away from the detection radius edge of the last bomb (undetonated). So instead of saying you not yet outside the detonation radius of the first bomb, you can also say that you are not yet outside the detection radius of the last bomb. Here's one lil myth buster I can toss out from experience)....a finder does not "always" detect the closest deposit from the blast point. Traditional rule has been that a finder detects the closest deposit to the blst point....if happens to be a tie (2 deposits exactly 20m from blast) then it detects the one of greater tt value. On more than one occation I have dropped a detector, claimed a deposit, dropped another detector close by and found a 2nd deposit closer to the 1st blast than the 1st deposit was. ![]() |

![]() Maybe that was due to lag ? I'll try to post this on PlayMMO and get Etopia's attention ![]() |
