I'm mining on Eudoria and i really dont know where u are mining, cuz today i have lost few peds again. Biggest depo i have found was ample (iron).

mining is great for me as well ... i lost some money when i mined with tt tools , but then i switched to crafted tools which suits my skills and i got noticeable improvment in my success - so far all runs with profit or at least breaking even. however if i am profiting from mining, most of time i also get some loses because of ammo spent for self protection .. but all in all i have some profit

tip for all who have lost some money from mining after VU - check stats for tools and take tools with higher average depth. i have skillgain bonus for matterfinder103 but i still use 102 because i have better depth with that tool. i can live without that skillgain bonus if i get higher profit

and one more thing - since many ppl now are mining like mad try to mine in places far away and with strong mobs around (if you can kill them or at least avoid good enough). since VU i have met many miners on my trips - even very very far from closest TP

Generally I think that a lot of (noob) miners needs to take a class or two in mining. It's extremly easy to waste bombs/probes before you get a hang of where you should place em.

Strakkan and Seamaster will just have to start having frequent classes

ive got no clue where to drop bombs, i just drop em, and see what happens. sometimes with a good result, overall ok return (mostly up)

almost 800 mining skill, still no clue :P

and skillgains dont mean nothing anymore i guess this VU? i get frequent geology and perception, even before the bomb finished searching, and no find at all mostly.

is there any? this should be informative forum, right? and how the hell u can see the veins? i just see pixel pattern and troxies shit :P

I've never been able to pinpoint what a "vein" is Nea, but I think it refers to what happens when you find a deposit in the ground, then "re-bomb" in the area and find another. As you continue to bomb around in that area, getting a few hits in a row, this sometimes forms a line or some shape of the claims in a row.
