Topography = Geology/Resources?

When finding places to mine are there above ground geological structures that I should be looking for that indicate below ground resources?

At one PED per bomb I want to use those with the most efficency as possible, however I seem to be wasting many bombs in order to find resources (mineral, not energy).

I note I found a lot of resources in the Blue area south south west of Atlantis Port, is this indicative of topography related to resources?

Can I use Bombs and Excavator in rivers and lakes? I know in real life minerals and metals are washed into rivers, lakes and ocean basins at the mouths of rivers/streams.

I am basically asking do the same geological rules on Earth Apply in PE?

no it says in the PE Guide that resources dosent have anything to do with landscape.

There are no rules like irl on earth, you can find minerals everywhere and you also can mine in rivers/lakes or in the ocean, although its not recommended to move further into the ocean than like 100-150m I would say. I have never found any mineral further away from the shore than maybe 200m.

Wasting bombs in the beginning is a learning process that every miner has to go through until having enough knowledge about sites and their mineral spawn.

So mining in that blue area is just a fluke of PE nature ?

150 M is meaningless to me in game. I have yet to see how one can measure distances in the game beyond what the resource/bomb detector has.

Perhaps I missed that in the guide? I appear to have missed the bit about topography not matching resources, perhaps I have missed in-game distance measuring as well.

Well when people talk about "meters" they are using the measurement in PE itself...press C sometime to see your coordinates. Then walk a bit and press C again. You'll see how many meters you go.

When people talk about placing a bomb every "X" meters, some meticulously measure it using the "C" key, but others just know that if you run for, say, 10 seconds, you have covered about 150 meters.
