it doesnt matter how many times you click to get the skillgain
it is determined by the value of the deposit
so a 100ped lys will give you same mining skills as a 100ped kanerium.

at least this was new to me since im not the hardcore miner.i noticed this when i hit a massive alferix and gained about 80 lvls in mining from 1960 to 2040 thou extracting alferix took me like 20 uses.
so dont try to fool yourself when you get a lyst global with "at least i get some more mining skills"

i think im not the only one who didnt noticed this before

Although maybe you get more skill gains with each on say, Lyst, but each gain Is worth less ?

Or do all skill gains Increase the same amount of skill progression?

I doubt that is so simple.
But yes I agree
one of the major factors determining is beyond doubt the value of the minerals extracted, making the amount of pulls only secundary.
Anyway it is fairly easy to prove that it isn't so simple: towers don't give as many skills as expected
In the above example I would say that a 100 PED of Kanerium will give more than (meaning at least) 80% of the skills that you be obtained in a 100 PED of Lysterium.

I can definetly shoot down this one

in a 100ped lyst i get not even 1 point of mining (just before 6000)

and with 100ped iron similar ores (cumb,narc,erd) i get 1-2

and with ores like duru,azz,tride i get least 2 points

I'm not sure I understand. the mining skill is only earned when you're digging ore. so, the bigger the claim, the more mining experience.

I don't doubt that this occured for you in this instance. And maybe you noticed it before. But if I pull 50 ped of Lyst compared to 50 ped of gold we are comparing over 100 clicks vs 10 clicks. I would be pretty confident that I would obtain more skill over 100 clicks than 10. Now just need to get a 50 ped gold to prove it. (I did find a 5 ped gold btw). 1 click no skill. 5 ped in lyst does get me skill. So there is some variation in your point I think.

maybe the skillgain on two diffrent ore types is not 1:1 (with same size).
but the skillgain is still not determined by the amount of uses... right?
maybe there is like a bonus on the more "rare" ores , like we have a kill bonus on experience when killing bigger creatures?
i see diffrent opinions here and im allways happy to learn something new!
