Under the assumption that mining claims spawn the same way.. which is very likely considering just about everything else in EU, including Hasie's findings here; Hasie's Mining Theory.. Tell me what you think
Look at the following 2 pix; When looking at picture 1, notice the red dot in the radar. That's a seal about to drown.....Meaning I am very close to land.. See the drone wreckages? That means they just got there.. infact, the screenshot where they still where red dots got lost somewhere in the void of my clipboard singularity just moments before. But, the evidence is clear; "Robot ships "spawn" the moment you detect them." The question is now, "Do claims spawn the same way?" In my deductive genius, I am convinced that claims spawn as-you-go. Put that together with another fact, such as location of ore type, which I and pretty much any other miner will swear by, is that ore type is very area dependent. (Under the rule exception of when MA plays hand of god.) All this means now what? Pretty much jack shit for the average asses that comment one-liners in this forum thinking they are incredibly insightful while trying to be sympathetically amusing to score a nonexisting share of intellectual brainfarts emphasized by delicately animated smilies which were originally designed to amuse children and emotionally inept occupants of Earth. To me it means nothing either, but I got to say what I really feel about you. Come on, write a oneliner, gimme a rep with a stupid comment like "rofl" with a shitty smiley. One day you will be sorry - Something really bad will happen to you, and all the sympathy you will get will be coated with stupid, happy and smiling smilies in all froody shapes and disgustingly cheerfull colours. -Each smiley will be my signature of glee at your suffering. There could be another twist here, claims are in the ground but the size spawns with the roulet you start when you drop a bomb. Example I will give is in a EU scripting language:
![]() Bomb dropped = yes claim below = yes ore type (area x) = narc, zinc, iron - random 1, 2, 3 claim size = personal luck * (3x deposited lately? + (-got anything big lately?)) + loot pool % and the it goes DING ![]() |

I agreed with your assumption all the way until you paused and went and had that one to many cones and your alter ego stepped in and lost the plot

If this means the result of your own bomb drops are totally unaffected by whether 0, 5 or 50 people mined the area in the last 5 minutes or 24 hours, thats a very interesting finding

and some. + repNot sure why your so defensive ? Your claims above are very much how many people see the mining system in EU. None of us really have a clue and only MA knows for sure or do they ?I guess we throw out theories based on how we perceive things in EU and how logically MA might be controlling things such as resource spawns. One thing I think many of us can agree upon is that resources are clumped together in fields. Some fields come very close to overlapping and enmatter and ore might very well over lap. I don't think there are huge chunks of Durulium waiting underneath the textured landscape to be extracted. I do think that certain fields spawn points or tags probably in some random fashion like sparse mob spawns heck the points and tags might even move about. When you enter the range of those tags and you have the skills and equipment to detect the tags you find the claim. Sure this can all be done mathematically in the MA "HAL junior" super computer but I have mapped many a field which do change sometimes but basically remain the same. I think the biggest changes we see are resources being moved from one field to another especially when new land is opened up and until the balancing team can figure out just what they want and where they want it. There are certain aspects of your avatar that will light up a tag (skills and equipment) those tags are also influence by the field they are in and the loot server and how it generates size and type. Type is also dependant on skills, equipment, and the luck factor. I think most theories are just ways that people try to wrap their brains about what is going on in the EU. All share some type of commonalities and probably all of them are right and wrong in some ways. The only ones who know the "end all be all" answers to EU are MA and I don't think they are opening up those information gates at any time. If EU ever goes bust and MA stops developing RCE MMO type Virtual Worlds I would love to look Marco up and ask just how they did it all. Whether I am right or wrong in my theories I think it would be fascinating. It would be like answering "What is the meaning of virtual life in EU?" lol |

The assumption that, based on these screenies, all deposits spawn as you detect them is not as obvious as you might like it to be. The “Strange Signal” event is so unlike “normal” mining as to be in a category all of it’s own. Fist of all, the finder does not seem to search as it normally does; the strange signal seems pre-determined on the drop click. Secondly, the location of the strange signal is normally way out of range of any normal mining claim, sometimes hundreds of meters away. Thirdly, it’s not a mining claim, it’s a bonus event available to a player using a mining detector, so it likely is an event that begins when you make your drop click, but this doesn’t mean that the location for that event isn’t already plotted at those cords for any miner who makes a drop click within range of that location.
As with mob, mining claims all have pre-existing locations. Obviously the mob isn’t there in your view until you are within range, but it is already there. Your entering the area didn’t make it spawn, it only made it visible, just like what happens when you walk up to dung or fruit. I haven’t paid close attention but it would be interesting to determine whether mob that occasionally spawn in water die before you enter the area, or do the only drown because they appeared in your view in water. I’ll keep an eye out for that. |

Agree.
Though I was always quite certain of it, this is probably the closest thing we'll get to a proof. Nice find. ![]() Quote:
