Anyone knows where i can find a map or program which helps me with mining.
which can do the following: Show me where i find which ores. Keep a log file for me where i found which ores. let me be able to adjust on the map where i found which ores. i remember there was something in a way like this. But i don't remember what it was or what the name was. Refresh my mind ![]() |

Yes, NRF is a good program. Haven't been mining after the new VU so I don't know either if it still works. (I assmume it does work ok still, otherwise people would let us know)
Here is a link: NRF - No Resource Found - Mining/Skilling App |

NRF was botched because of the new VU, but it appears there is a work around to get it working again. Apparently one needs to put entropia.exe into compatibility mode for win 2000. I havent had a chance to test it though, but there are 2 people who did. Check the mining forum for NRF,,,its always active. Read the last few pages for the work around. Read the first few pages for the link to download the software. Hell then read the other 30 pages just to do it..

I use excel to create my own map (now with 1100+ records), you just need to know some basic about it and you can make a nice map! Just a sheet with raw data (X,Y,depth, size, type, date) and create a chart for it, add background (map) to the chart it will look pretty good. Another advantage is you can edit it right after a new VU change, no need to wait the programmer to release a new version.

A map is just that, it's a tool that will tell you where things existed at a preset time. Mindark uses a four dimentional system :- x, y, z and t. Based on the information gathered from it, a person can predict possible mining coords. Of all the factors that make up a map, time is the most crucial and the most frustating. In my opinion sites spawn and expire based on a set time cycles by Mindark themselves, alter that timer and other factors including loot and coordinates are effected. When the client loads and your ava is projected into the game, take that event as an action, other actions include firing your weapon, dropping a probe/bomb and other events. A global / HOF is also an event. After a predetermined amount of hofs or loots that have been given out, the server shifts it's timer, causing all undiscovered sites/mobs to expire. This is the most difficult part of the system to track....
This is how mining works for me at the present moment. 1) Set the initial charge and try to predict the timer. 2) Walk x distance at y angle based on my "system" (I am not going to say a word about how that works) 3) If I make a hit, repeat (2) 4) Predict the change to the cycle and goto (2) If you get the current cycle correct sites WILL spawn in a vein like configuration. Get it wrong or the timer shifts, and you get NOTHING. I don't know if there is a set x and y that can be constantly applied, but I doubt it. With this system it is only possible to obtain one hit or loot level from one location. The loot may be split up into various claims in a given area. I have seen personally up to six claims in a set area. This is my take on mining Hope you enjoyed reading it :P |
