Hi,
two questions: 1. Range the detector has a certain range, so it is recommended to bomb, run twice the range and then bomb again. But how do you measure running distance? Is it the coordinates (are they in m)? 2. Veins Some say that if you find a deposit, drop a bomb nearby, and perhaps find another. Does this mean that if you were to drop 10 bombs on the same spot, hypothetically, more than one claim could pop up at this location? |

1.- Yes, but take a look at the mining section, perhaps the range is only the diameter and you only need to run one time the distance, not double.
2.- Yep, and if you take a look at the gallery, you can see people with 5+ claims in barely the same spot. I remember once to claim 6 resources with double bombing in a row. |

It's commonly accepted that you find the claim closest to the point you bomb.
hence, if the claim you find is very close to you when you bomb, there is a possibility that there is more out there, further away. if however you find something 50 meters away, there is little point dropping another bomb in the same spot. |

I did some tests a long time ago, and when i made a claim, just run from it without clossing the finder, so you can see the distance, and try to improve your counting skill ![]() |

double bombing will result in lower returns than bombing in a fresh spot, as any experienced miners can tell you
people might gotten 6 claims in one spot, but I have gotten 20+ in a row while moving ^^ |

1: Range is in meters, and the range of the detector is outward from where it operates, so that makes it a radius. So yes, you need to run twice that distance before you bomb. Personally, if the range is 54.7 then I only run between 100 and 108 or 109 and don't get too worried about the tiny bit of overlap. For how my ava is right now, that is 20 seconds. Of course, if I get overloaded I have to start actually looking at positions because run speed then becomes unpredictable, and that goes the same when mining in hilly or mountainous country.
2: It's more than just veins. There can be more than one type of resource in an area, and only bombing once yields what that bomb picked up. I have found countless claims of other resources by bombing a second time in one spot. While conventional wisdom says that you find things farther out with successive bombs, I had that theory blown all to hell a while back when something popped up closer than the farthest claim. I've only had it happen that once, and it makes me wonder what the hell I did, but I am calling it a fluke and not something that will likely happen again. |
