Not sure bout what guide you mean, but unless it has been updated this VU it might be inaccurate.
However, you have stats on the detector, telling you your outer range. 1,5x that range would be my suggestion... so if your outer range is 50, place a bomb and run 75 meters before you drop the next bomb.. (youll overlap some, but youll cover the area better... |

of note - there appears to be a lot of "stacking" in this VU. A lot of areas have more deposits in the same range of the original deposit. I have found several that had more deposits within a 30 meter range of the original marker. If you find a field it might be worth your while to drop in closer increments.

Ok, say for example that you have 50m range with your detectonator just to make it simple.
That means you have a search diameter of 100 meters and a radius of 50 meters. If you drop the bombs 100 meters apart, youll cover the area like this; ![]() Where the blue X is the deposit. However, if you place the bombs only 50 meters apart, youll cover the area like this; ![]() and voila, beep goes the detectonator. This way you cover a wider, but yes, shorter area at a time. However, covering an area twice is not neccesarilly a bad thing, as theposits often spawn close to eachother. |

Press "P" for position walk a bit and press "P" again...so you are able to calculate how many meters you have walked... You get two numbers, altitude and latitude....so any change in each or just another number is the amount of meters you have walked...either more from the point (number increases) or less from the point (number decreases). For example: you press "P" and get numbers like 19800 and 1200 You walk a bit and press "P" again and get 19800 and 1210 so you have walked 10 meters. Or you get 19800 1190 you have also walked 10 meters It is also possible to the both numbers to change: FE: 19810 and 1210 it is yet 10 meters you have walked -just diagonally from the point you left. If the numbers do not match; like 19815 and 1210 you have more to calculate...in this case you have walked 10+(10-5)=15 meters And naturally to walk 50 meters you have to press "P" as many times until you get the numbers to match. You get better and better to evaluate your walking distance by time. Last edited by Cay; 10-19-2005 at 06:43.. |

Cant calculate it like that.. if was a perfect 90 degree triangle, then he wouldve walked sqr.root of (10x10)+(15x15) (stupid computer not having sqr. and sqr.root )so.. walked sqrt:325 or ~18 meters... But thats on a right angle triangle.. and i aint doing cos/sin/tan with you :P |
