I was one of the many who played for quite some time without a GC.

I didnt use the forum and I had no idea about hackers.

Good people dont think about what bad people might do...

As my mother always said to me...

Locks on your house are to keep the honest people out!!

So the least I can do now is to help anyone new to understand just how important a Gold Card really is...

Dont be one of who laughs at those who have been hacked for not having a GC.
Be one who helps the new guy get a gold card before he gets hacked

Similar devices are available for other apps. Paypal has a small device like the reader that generates a code that is required to access your account, I have one of those too. Paypal charges $5 for it.

you would still get the OMG I GOT HACKED threads... its just they wouldn admit that they should hav bought a GC. or they would say *too expensive*. after 3 something years of playing, ive surpassed the free GC offer deposite limit several times, and i was a light player! if you have decent gear... i just dont see why you dont buy a GC

no password is 100% safe, but the GC improves your security by so much as to make it nearly impossible to be hacked, even if your username and password are compromised!

As ma dont tend to get involved with 'hacking' posts here...I have this wish;

I would love just ONCE for ma to pop into a post and say "No, actually this person is speaking absolute bullshit, they were not hacked AT ALL!"

...perhaps then, they could expand..
