RIP Frosty-Heres a memorial for you.

2 days ago, Frosty my beloved pet rabbit passed away. He was almost five. He will be sorely missed.
He was my one true friend and he was always there for me. He was house trained and lived in my room and ran around the house.
He laves behind a sister of of the same age. His other seven siblings were killed 4 years ago when a wolf was able to smash open their cage.

Two weeks ago, we noticed he had started thinning out. We didn't think much about it, but then, a few more days passed.
He started denying food and water completely. Then one night I found that he had slept on our deck ground in the icy wind because he had not been able to hop into his cage for the night. We noticed that he was now not jumping, at all. We took him to he vet and they didn't find anything unusual, they said maybe it was arthritis. So we started watching him closely. He soon didnt move at all. He would just sit around, and then we noticed that he had his back legs stretched out very weirdly. We also noticed that when we held him he was gnashing his teeth with pain. We took him again to the vet. This time they found something, his muscles were deteriorating (melting). We started giving him pain medication every 4 hours. We were waking up and 2 and 6 am to give him his medication.
The next day we noticed he could not walj anymore, he dragged himself around using his front paws.
Over the next week he battled bravely against the disease, we made him a place inside the house on our living room floor. We scattered hay and spared no expense to make his last days as good as they could be. We got him all his favorites: lettuce, basil, carrots, and apples.
His sister was so depressed and she herself stuck herself in a corner and did not move.
I held Frosty as much as I could, I slept next to him and petted him for hours.
Finally, he seemed to be doing especially bad that night. I held him close, knowing he might not wake up that night.
In the morning I rushed out to find him.

He was still alive, but just barely. The pain was so great that his teeth's chattering was audible from across the room. He had the strength to even move his head. His head lay resting on the floor. I knew that he was suffering badly. So we decided to take him to the vet, one last time.

On the way their, I held him and talked with him. He bravely held on, attempting a pur. Finally when we got there, I sat in the car with him while my mom went to sign in. I told him it was time to go now, that he should go.
I'll never forget what he did.
He looked up, leaned over and licked my hand.
He then sagged into my arms and died.

I hope my writing is readable, im crying to hard to see clearly.

He died not how I'd have liked it, he started convulsing and his mouth stretched open and he twisted this way and that. But I know that he is happy now.
And that comforts me, he was the best, most obedient rabbit you will ever hear about.

And with that, Frosty, I will never forget you, ever.
Godspeed, run, and never stop, play until you are tired and then play some more. Because I know that in that warm sunny place, you will never become sick.

I had a pet rabbit to, it died when I was 9.


There such funny and loving little things.



Perhaps one day well have genetically modified pets that can speak, and live as long as us lol.

Lol, your evil, personally, I'd be totally creeped out by a talking rabbit.

Lovely animals... our family dwarf rabbit lived 14 years (maybe even 15), and died of rabbit's cancer. Vet said he was damn old.
They're lovely animals... not the smartest... but lovely...

I don't know, I think that's just cause it's an unusual thing.. But over time you'd get used to it. And would be able to build an even stronger relationship with pets, since communication is no longer a barrier.

Yea .. but imagine if your pet looked at you one day and said :
"Look, we had a good, long run - but it's over. It's not you, it's me."

Ya....I was depressed for the next month.
But I've been spending alot of time with his sis, and she's been living in my room.
She's are fairly good miner btw,
Who needs a mining bot when ya got a rabbit anywho?

I think so too, they are the cutest pets EVER!
And they have really great personalities.
