Animal Cruelty In The Name Of Art - Help Stop This!

I found several of the same quotes that Bernz found. Part of what makes me try to think logically about is that there is nothing to backup the myspace account existed, or was the author, and that there are several variations of the same quotes.

I did find an article in the Seattle Post Intelligencer that was regarding the petition. It was in the art section and a rehash of he story above rather than any investigative work. Other than that and a few are magazines I am unable to find much at all.

I hate stories like this, I hope to find that they are not true, that somewhere someone is trying to pull off a hoax and laugh at all that fall for it.

As I sit here with an image of that poor dog Nativity sitting in my brain and I keep thinking of my last dog that passed on as I sit here feeding my other two dogs marshmellows. (One of their favorite treats - but they only get a few).

Pepper had a heart attack and all I could do was comfort him as we rushed him to the vet, his eyes rolled back in his head.

Bo we got from the pound to keep our little Minnie company sometime after Pepper died. She was just too lonely without him. Bo was an abused dog, he has been with us almost 2.5 years and still sometimes when I reach over to pet him he flinches in fear of being hit. It hurts my heart to think of him. The poor dog has an ulcer - I never knew a dog could have an ulcer, the vet said that he was likely quite traumitized in his previous life and will never get over being so jumpy.

This story sucks - I can't find any proof that is is true, but I can not find any proof that it is false. I am signing the petition because if there is even a chance it is true then I can try in this very small way to help.

I think Minnie and Bo need a few more Marshmellows too

True or not, this kind of story make me very sad because I really love dogs and animals in general. Anger dwell inside me each time and like you, it remind my best friend.

Almost same thing happened to me but it was in the middle of the night and it was too fast to do anything anyway. I tried my best to save his life but...

I was in Entropia when it happened.
It's sad but at least it was only one minute of fear for him in his 8 happy years.
He was my little baby. Can you imagine a 85 pounds Husky sleeping in my bed?

Thanks to all who have taken the time to look into this, I can't be any more sure of it all than you, I can only (and did) goggle the name and read all the results. There was enough there combined with the source who I got it from whom I trust to not put this out without having checked the sources well for me to feel it was overall true and worthy of a petition being signed.

Born in the year of the Dog, having had 6 dogs that I have had the priviledge to care for during my life, I cannot condone this kind of wanton cruelty to those who have been my companions and best friends.

Usually when I hear stories like this, especially with a link attached to an online petition, I take some time and try to research. I came up with pretty much the same information as Zar, nothing definitive as of yet.
What kind of makes me scratch my head a bit is that the posts about the scandal are blog entries, a youtube slideshow, an alleged myspace account with more info - nothing really tangible. Usually all signs of an hoax.

Don't get me wrong, I am a dog owner, my 4 year old mutt has a very special place in my life and my family, and I hate it when people are cruel to animals. I also hate internet hoaxes that cause a whole lot of people to get outraged and sign petitions, and find out later they have been making a total ass out of themselves because they have just jumped the bandwagon and in fact caused the exact opposite of what they intended to do.

I have become very careful with "information" posted somewhere on the internet and I dont believe anything unless I can find verification and sources I trust.

Read about a simular thing on a museum with fishes in a kitchen tool, the visitors was free to put on the machine and see the fishes slished to death.

IMO very bad taste, no live animals should go true anything like this.

there are some sad sick people in this world, but thankfully there are an awful lot of good ones as well.

Thanks again to all who bothered to read, look up info etc. I agree that too many times stuff like this passed around on tinternet is a hoax, or just gets very muddled up along the way, but some stories are worth having a second look at at the very least. I remember being outraged at the 'bottled kitty' so long ago, and only recently heard from someone who still believes that story was true (as well as thinking Blair Witch Project was real, poor sod needs to get out more), so I understand completely that some have felt it wasn't a confirmed enough story to sign the petition.
