I have misplaced my cell phone!

I have misplaced my cell phone at work somewhere in my office building. I have tried call it to hear where it’s located, but I usually have it on a silent profile mode while I am in the office. It’s a Sony Ericsson P1 and it most of the times has Bluetooth turned on. I have found a 15-20 meter radius at my office where I can search and find the phone from my laptop via Bluetooth. Problem is that I can connect to it from within this radius on all 3 floors of this building, so it doesn’t really help me to find what floor it is on. I usually send files between my phone and laptop and have chosen the setting to “always allow this device to connect”. This means I have successfully sent a file to my phone in it’s misplaced location . Does anybody have a clever idea on how I can find my phone by just using Bluetooth? Does anyone know if I can by remote Bluetooth change the setting for my phone to not be in silent mode? I am pretty sure I will find my phone, or that someone will bring it for me. But I thought this was a funny problem! It’s so close but yet so far away!

Just out of curiousity, do you get like a little bar showing signal strength when you connect to the device? Kinda like you do with a wireless network? If so you could use that and walk round the building to home in on it, or at least narrow down the search area. In theory.

Sounds like you need a MF-213 (L) Adjusted, or maybe an OF-214 Customized with a OreAmp OA110 (L) to find that phone, Good luck getting one of those though.

No I don't It's either connected or not. Good advice though!

well, dont think it have to do with your age, sometimes things just dissappear
(like socks when you wash them!)

have you asked those you work with if they have seen it?

Is there a basement in the building? If so, go down there and try to hook up with your phone...

if you get a signal it most probably isn't on the third floor anyway, and vice versa if you don't. If you REALLY want it back, call the firedepartment and have them bring one of those ladders with a basket at the top and get in it and get it up over the building. Have a friend triangulate your exact height;

For every 5 meters above the building you can rule out one floor...
