Going to ignore it (as always) and my prediction is:

While the mass of people and media are absorbed with:
- watching 24 people running around on (more or less synthetic) grass
- buying shit they don't need (or advertising that)
- drinking more alcohol than good for them (or advertising it)
- getting ripped off for entrance fees, food and drinks (or gaining free access)
- knowing more about football than anyone else (for both groups)

our governments will pass some legislations (more surveilance, less freedom, spending for war preparation, showeling big bucks toward the rich while ripping the poor) unnoticed - again.
