EU the cure for Alzheimers???

http://help-alzheimers.com/news/news...deo-games.html

In this and many other articles there is now a theory... (I had it before I heard about this) that playing video games could possibly help the elderly keep a grasp on Reality... OH THE IRONY!

Well... all those years my wife and others told me that I was wasting my time with this game.... *prepares to rub some people's noses in it*

Another great clientelle for this game would be those Disabled.. and can't really work... and the regular elderly... as well as College students perhaps...

Anyone mature enough (and bright enough) to hang in there... learn all they can about this game.. and put some effort into it...

What do you think? Could this game actually help IMPROVE society and some people's lives?

Yes, but the war would take place in PvP4.

I still say EU is a waste of time and money. If you want to play games you can find thousands of games out there which cost less. Just so we are clear I say alot of things which make no sense.

Well, I've found this very true in my own personal experiance when looking upon my grandparents.

The first set, were VERY active in life, they were always involved in something and always cept very busy with their hobbies, quilting, carving, gardening, cooking, reading, puzzles, etc.

The second merely settled into a daily routine of watching tv.....

It is 100% clear the the first set not only live more fruitfull lives, but they also are MUCH happier....just recently, the second set confided with me that they want to just die and get it over with.....its very very sad.

So, anyways, I don't care what you are doing....but find something that keeps to active and ENGAGES your mind!

Computers I think are MUCH more different than tv, you are not just zoning out. Your using your mind as you play, to figure out problems, to chat with friends, etc.

Anyways......just some thoughts.

Hi,

I discovered EU after I was badly injured in an accident. Before the accident I was running a business and was one of the top people in my chosen sport. The hardest part after the accident being stuck in a bed was finding a purpose.

EU has given me some purpose, especially WOF. Almost gave me the feeling of representing again. I have always been an avid gamer and other games just feel like another way to pass the time. So yes I do feel EU can be very beneficial to the disabled.

In regards to it being beneficial to Alzheimers, from the studies I have read EU is a great fit there too. All of the most successful studies have related to slowing the natural (as in all brains) degeneration of neural links. The most effective way of achieving this is with a combination of hand eye co-ordination and future planning. Thats the primary reasoning behind gardining as one of the preferred activities.

Most games don't offer the future planning (being years not hours/days) aspect.
