From memory, and I might be wrong as it is a long time since I have read about this.....

A rouge planet, known as the "Dark planet" orbits the sun in a very wide and distant track but once every 3000 years or so it approaches the sun travelling at its closest before again disappearing out into the solar system again (and beyond, hence why we dont know of it).

During its track back towards the sun "some" predict it will impact or come very close to the Earth, either of which would be certain doom to us. Impact, axis tilt or changed orbit track around the Sun for us would be "end of mankind" ...... or armageddon.

Dont bother buying christmas prezzies for 2012 as I think this is predicted to happen on the 23rd of December (not sure about this though).

My niece Emma was initially selected for the England Hand-Ball Squad, and rightly so as she is the Star player on the countries league champion Hand-Ball team. However the England Olympic Selection commitee, in their eternal wisdom, have dropped her from the squad as they say she is..... wait for it....

What is amazing is just how many people, cultures and religions from all over the world see December 21st 2012 as a cosmically significant date...

The Mayan calendar ends on that date. The Mayans beleived (Knew?) that December 21st 2012 will see a cosmic alignment of the plane our solar systems with the milky way... In other words the Earth will have completed it's latest 26,000 years "wobble", or Procession. In their belief system this can open the doorway to a realm of Evil...

Also it co-incides with the return to our solar system of the 10th planet.. The one that smashed into Tiamat and turned Tiamat into what we now know as the Earth, and the asteroid belt (The Firmament)...

Einstein also predicted a polar flip around this time...

So it's gonna be an interesting time kids.

My advice, find somewhere high up with a good view and a good local food source, sit down, and watch the show... Personally I may try to arrange it so that I am in the Himalayas, in the hills above McLeod Ganj in Himashal Pradesh, just a short walk from the Dalai Lama's gaff... S'nice up there.. I don't mind being burned up in a huge cosmic fireball, as long as I can be one of the last to go, so i get to point and laugh.
