may16th,2008 (3month 3 days ago)

i started the day with a breakfast-miningrun, like i use to do every day, i go to work at 12.30pm so before there is plenty of time and really nothing prepared me for what was comming. In the evening, when i came back home, my internet was down and i thought: well maybe the thunderstorm yesterday caused some repairs and maintenance... damn i was so wrong... strange enough my telephone worked fine...

may17th,2008

first contact with the support of my internet-provider Arcor, they said they will send a support ticket to the Telekom, where i have my phone-line. I told them it couldnt be my hardware, because i have 4 splitters and 3 boxes and an equal ammount of cable-sets at home and tried them all, ...no signal.

may21st,2008

first date with a Telekom technician. nobody came.

may24th,2008

second date with a Telekom technician. nobody came. i called both supports. Arcor said, that Telekom said that everything is okay, they made an internal check and everything is ...just fine, DSL available. I called the Telekom support and they said, my account got deleted last decembre? wtf they cannot help me i am not their customer. so i called the Arcor support again, and they answered me like... lol... funny bad joke, we send Telekom another support-ticket for a new technician and your problem will get solved as soon as possible.

may28th, 2008 (my birthday)

Third date with a Telekom technician, nobody came, Telekom told Arcor everything is in best order, they made an internal check again. I called both supports: Arcor cant check the lines of Telekom themselves, but according to the protocoll they sent another support ticket and according to the resale contract both providers have Telekom really, really is in charge to fix my problem. I got promoted: new support case ranking: escalation-case (nice birthday present)

nope, nobody came of course. Do i have to tell that i called the support? BUT this day was my lucky day! I found a Telekom technician van somewhere in the city and i waited 20min till the technician came. I kinda begged for help (on my knees and with that cats look in Shrek) and told him my case briefly. He said he will call the next day and tell me what the hack is going on.

He called!... and told me that my house number got changed last decembre and suddenly i recalled that letter i got from the Telekom last november We have a great special service for you! Fed up with changing your number everytime you move? You wont have to tell your friends your new number, GET YOUR OLD NUMBER BACK! Thats for free, ... great service right? Erm Yes so i did it.
Ah this makes sense, Arcor still has the number of the line, Telekom deleted to set my old number back up. I called the support and told them. Could be just a matter of days from now, till i am back on right?

june6th-9th, 2008

Some time between the 6th and the 9th i got insane, EU-withdrawal-syndromes kinda reached the first peak these days and i had a bunch of ridiculous calls with the Arcor support line. They told me only Telekom can announce a change of the base telephone number, but this is a service and we send them a support-ticket, including a technician, including an internal check of the line AND we will tell them what you told us. All according to the protocoll. Anybody getting that something goes awfully wrong here?

Has anything changed? Nope! Did anybody of the so-called supporters understood, what i told them, NOPE! Could Arcor move the Telekom to update the information of my number-change? Nope. First night, i dreamed a remix of the support-centre-hold-the-line-tunes of both centres!

june 22nd, 2008

I went to the stores of both providers, results: i got promoted to reclamation case in the support-data-base of Arcor (which i am so proud of) but they gave me some homeworks: get a statement from the Telekom what your current number is. I did, i sent and faxed it damn it! Oh and i got my 6th technican of Telekom gratis, who of corse... did not come!

june 29th, 2008

a week had passed and because those support-lines where bad for my, no, they really, really p***ed me off, i went to both stores again. In the Telekom store they said to me with shiny devilish yellow teeth: Huar Mr. Merker, if you were a full telekom customer you wouldnt have those problems. For the first time in my life, i not only thought it, i not only said it gently or loud, no i screamed it, so that every (potential) customer in the store could listen: FUCK YOU! ...and went off the store. On the way from this store to the other i sensed it for the first time: there is a well concealed, subtle but bitter war going on between Arcor and Telekom: theres no information flow between them and for damn 40 bucks a month they cut down my and each and every customers freedom to choose the internet providers i want. So i went to the Arcor store, i got promoted to hopeless case and gave me the advice to cancel the contract at once, hardshipcase-style and set up a new one. I wrote the hardship-cancelation the same day. If the reader now thinks the problem is close to be solved youre so f***ing far from right.

july 9th, 2008

I got the standard-letter: Sorry that you dont want to surf anymore with Arcor, your contract will expire july 16th and your account and all information will be deleted from our database. As a good customer (WHO DESPERATELY WANTED TO HAVE INTERNET; DAMN IT I GOT A SOC TO LEAD!) and more important, as a now free customer i compared certain offers, related to the time needed to set up a new internet and price. With their offer: internet on july 23rd, on time, they said: ON TIME, and good price for a powerful connection the Telekom sucked me into its widespread open maw (a thing i always wanted to avoid)

july 16th, 2008

On this day i got a letter which left me dull and lame. You know at this day System of a Down didnt work for me anymore, it became too soft for me and i started to listen to really, really ugly, garage-like, experimental grind-gore-core. Telekom stated in this letter that Arcor didnt want to release me out of the contract cause i subscribed for a whole year with a cancelation period of 3 month, so first of octobre i´d be free. I instantly faxed the cancelation i had from Arcor to a bureau in the fifty-fifth storey of the Telekom Headquarters (where it, you guess it, got lost)

july 28th, 2008

I really wondered why i dont get post from the Telekom, so i called the support. pls pls i dont want to talk about it. so we go on with ... (Okay i will do: Telekom stated that they need the cancelation information of Arcor. But they couldnt get it, Arcor deleted me, remeber? I am lost)

august 8th, 2008

an old and bitter man calls the Telekom support. Yes you might find it the right time to promote me now to somewhere: i got the number of the carrier-team, the special Telekom task force for cases of pure crisis and customer-disdain. They finally found the cancelation, ... no wonder, in the last 2 years i worked as a sales-promoter and i spammed that letter to them on the most ridiculous and dirtiest ways i came to know. Not sure if you know what a spamcascade looks like from the other side of your e-mail-account or fax or lockbox, i do. They pledged to make it work on friday 15th, maybe saturday 16th.

No way, but yes it is no hallucination, the LSD, i mean DSL light on my starter box is not flickering red anymore but radiates a dim green light. Okay so far so good, lets install the log-in data into the DSL-Box... log-in data? Damn they didnt sent me the login data yet. So i called the support. They answered: Log-in data? We thought you have ... everything ...now, okay, okay we send them with the post. Monday, maybe tuesday you have them!

I swear this never happened to this place before after world war 2 ended, hello? i live in germany and we are famous for such things but... but on monday the mailman did not come... the whole street, no mailman, no mail, damn i wish this were a joke.

I just logged off after i burned 5 104-amps with a serious loss and wrote this blog. Even though i feel like a looser now, not because i lost like 400ped but because i subscribed a contract with the Telekom, the forces of evil, i feel relaxed and all the stress of the last three month falls off of me. i had the deep exigency to write this, i mean they tell you that you live in a free world, freedom of choice, freedom of speech and so on, but sometimes this is not the case. i have the feeling that something goes awfully wrong sometimes. You might laugh now and find all this funny, but let me say a last thing. Sometimes even hell is better than death. And i just dont want Parlog to die, i love him and the environment he lives in, the environment that is you!

In my country our state telecoms giant is called Telkom (although most people prefer Hellkom). Sounds as if they are cut from the same cloth

Make up a story how you lost money cuz their internet service sucks and had problems, get them to give you the month free of charge. Thats what I would do, and if they say no, threaten to use a different company.

Here we got the problem... they call it a free market, but there is no different company, the wires belong to the Telekom. And if you should get a problem with a different provider on Telekom cables, and they will make you get one, you get stuck.

Parlog. Thats sad to hear. Here we have about 3 main companies you can go to for internet.

Once they phoned me cuz I went over the bandwidth limit, they have a bandwidth limit of 60GB/Month. And well for 3 months i went up into the 150GB's mainly cuz I was hosting a FTP for a while and website on a old computer I had on a 2nd router in my house (yes im one of those people who will take any crap computer and find something to do with it, even though its useless). And well, the internet that I bought which is the cheapest, 17$/month gets me like 300kbps-700kbps download, its good. anyways, they phoned me saying they are gonna shut my connection down if I keep doing it and that if I want to have servers I have to pay like 50$ a month for a dedicated server connection. And then i just said, yeaaah. Well I was thinking about going to ...... the other cable company they have it cheaper. I was getting kinda frustrated with the service ive been having lately. And right when i said that everything went quiet the guy said Oh sorry for the inconviences and he said to me try to keep the bandwidth down. And ive been lookin at my logs and i still almost every month go over 60GB's usually like 80GB/Month and they've never phoned back again lol, and im still paying 17$/month.
