Need advice on Webinar options

My work is wanting to do a monthly "meet the boss" type webinar, and I've been tasked to see what our options are.

Basically, the boss will shoot some video from his webcam talking about this subject or that, and letting our customers watch live. They would also like to have moderated chat Q&A ability, like 711 does here w/ the "chat with Marco" segments.

I've checked some of the bigger players, such as Webex, but want some opinions from you guys as well.

The biggest factors are these:

Due to our loyal customer-base, having 5-8,000 live viewers is very conceivable. So those "up to 100 viewers" companies are simply too small too handle this project.
Our boss is a bit long-winded and may do video feeds of anywhere from 1-3 hours.
He may do this from his home, while the Q&A moderator would be at work.
We also need a system that's fairly simple, so the boss can use it.
Obviously, recording and letting other customers view them later would be ideal as well. Obviously that cuts out the Q&A, but will they get to read those as well? Perhaps a chat log to go with the recorded video?

Any input/experience/technical data you folks have on this type of subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We use Citrix go to meeting and go to webinar and have found it to be a very nice product for small to large training sessions. We have no where near the number you are looking at, and think the go to webinar scales to only 1000 users last I looked.

Yeah I checked GoToWebinar and their max capacity is simply too low.

Disclaimer: I have never done anything of this type, but since your still seeking....)
Doesn't Cisco have a solution somewhere? They've bought enough companies that do a bit of everything...

And maybe check what Polycom has to offer in this area.
