Are you asking me, if the fact that they couldn't proove a theory they didn't even know of, make it less possible that it was true?

How do you know they didnt know of the theory?

you said "that you cannot prove its exsitance makes it more likely that it doesnt exist".
after having said that people possibly couldnt have known that the world was made by a big bang. = the world wasnt created in a big bang since it couldnt be proved that it did.

Btw still, to this day, they havent yet proved big bang fully. Its still the question of why, how and what force got the bang to HAPPEN. But ofc, since we cant prove it, the bang didnt happen?

Im saying, we do not know how much which we call paranormal today might be scientific plausible or confirmed in the future. We might seem to know alot now, but knowledge comes with time. And we are not in a all-knowing age.

Science isnt just to find out new stuff, but also discover the old and review it with new eyes. Over and over for each age with new technology.

Well as it has been mentioned, in medievil times everything they thought was later proven wrong. Is it not possible that we are also wrong about many things? Our ignorance could have grown as much as our knowledge has grown in the last 500 years. We have had so many scientific breakthroughs, we are about due for more interesting breakthroughs in the fields of the paranormal and religious areas. Although probably more the paranormal side, since religion is still very arguable.

Because they came up with something silly like that it was an old man sitting in the sky who created everything!
Seriously though, they didn't have the tools (telescopes, means of measuring planetary movements, equipment for analysing the layers of the eath hundreds of meters down, etc) to see how the universe really looked. How big it is. And thus, they couldn't use this knowledge to deduct how the solar system looked before it was fully formed.
And you did not quote the entire context of my sentence i did not say that the inability to proove something makes it impossible.
The universe is one big hint that something happened somewhere in the nothingness, since we can see all stellar mass travelling away from a common center. It is said that the universe still "echoes" from big bang. Thus, it is more likely that "Big Bang" happened than it didn't (there is reason and a little proof behind the arguments for this event :P ).

The tools we develop allow us to see more and more of the full truth. Science can be seen and touched and tried and it works. This is why i believe we are not decieved this day, but that what we know now is closer to the truth than it ever was

Much as i enjoy this discussion, i have to go to bed now. School tomorrow

edit: "be" is spelled with one e. better go now

argh! just one more before i go!
Before medival times, some greek mathematician whose name eludes me scientifically proved the earth to be round (something about looking into a well at the same day in a year at two different places) and later "religion" claimed it to be flat. Who was right?
science works people. Religion doesn't

"they" who created "god" wasnt all the people in the world. Scientists isnt a group of people who popped up in the 1900's

And just to point out that you said

this is what I said too But only that I mean we are still eons from knowing all. I mean we never will. There will always be something to discover.
Also, science sometimes seem to be foulty -they change the answers as new technology comes. So how can we know that what we know today form science is 100% true? We cannot.

Btw how about big scientists like Galileo Galilei? He was a christian, but because of his studies that killed some "christian" myths (like the earth circulating around the sun), he was put under house arrest. Just saying beeing religious didnt make him a blind man to discovery outside the borders of christianity. Everything isnt just black and white

i dont know the name of that greek guy either, but remember: also the greek had gods, and also: religion did make some things happen, and some things not.

allso, if there isnt religion, it is for alot of people hard to find hope and faith. believe me or not, if there isnt some sort of religion, alot of people will loose their will to live, and if there isnt something after this live, what is the point to live? just get married and get kids? thats all? i dont think so.

Just like back then they didnt have the tools to discover we werent the center of the universe... perhaps we need tools to discover entities that dont exist as we do, but exist in another way?

Like Skam said, there is no black and white. There will be a point where religion and science really will come together in some aspects. Such as that, a way to find entities that arent of this planet but that are out there.
