Thats what Im saying all through the post. But even tho what the science "proofs" to us is real, we dont know what indeed is real. But as science "backs it up" with "proof". religion backs it up with stories and faith. and comparing those two would be wrong, since its like comparing naturalism to rennesansce. |

Alrite, i give in
But this also means that even if science fails now and then, it doesn't mean that religion was right. Even if the ultimate truth is that we are just brains in tanks, it doesn't mean that there is a god. You could say that science prooves itself and religion wrong every now and then. We get smarter all the time, and thank god for that! err... Anyways, i'll continue to back up old Prokhor Zakharov whom i quoted in the start of the thread, and believe in what is likely and possible. Gonna go play the durn game now ![]() |

I think that whenever science does fail to answer something, religion doesnt have to be overlooked.
I argued with my friend yesterday, and when I asked him about some of the things regarding the exorcism case that couldnt be proven by science he said "I dont care, its BS." I asked him how could he say that without scientific proof. He said "There doesnt need to be scientific proof, because its BS either way. I can guarantee you 100% there werent demons in her". Now that is very closed minded, and he really pissed me off. You cant claim to guarantee anything if you werent there or unless your an all knowing god, in which case religion would win Usually I agree with him, but not yesterday- he was being completely impossible and childish.Even when you are a science guy, or religious person... you cannot completely rule out the other one. At some point one will be proven right about something that your stand cannot prove at all. Then you'll look like a jerk ![]() And "God" doesnt have to be an almight person in the sky. Could he just be the force that created this Earth through the big bang? I had an interesting thought yesterday. What if we are just a fishbowl, and Earth is our fake castle set in the middle of it? Whenever we find food or whatever, we think we have found it. When we see newely bread animals on our farms we think its because we allowed it to happen. What if someone is simply putting the small animals there? Just like when we feed the fish in our aquariums. Do these fish think they have found the food themselves, or do they know we put it there? If they do... do think of us as a God? So it makes you wonder, what exactly is a God? Is the God people think of here on Earth simply a larger life that sprinklers food into our water and onto our fields? Hmmmm... ![]() |
