Ok, not being able to access EU makes people get busy with wierd things...

so, any thoughts on who to put bets on this year?

Ukraine is something, I must say. You should check their entry an eurovision.tv mediacentre. Trashiest song ever on ESC I guess. It's so bad and addictive that it can actually win. Tanzen!

Just realized not everyone is living in Europe and has to suffer this year after year. So here goes short description of whole thing.

Every year countries in Europe (42 in 2007) hold eternal selections and varios national finals to find that 1 song and artist they won't feel pity pointing finger and laughing at later. In theory it's the best song a country can offer the world at the moment.

Then in spring all representatives and fans meet in some city, drink a lot, wave flags and have fun. Media starts to pay attention to the color of socks belonging to people they'd never know even existed before they are chosen to represent some country. Viewers place bets on the winner or on UK coming with nill points again this year, everyone tries to convince everyone their song is the best etc.

Then final night comes and all representatives perform live (this is already funny, isnt it) on the same stage. Show is broadcasted all over the Europe + some more countries, so millions of people see how someone can't sing or how bad the dress of that lady is. Then televoting takes place and each country gives out scores, Cyprus votes for Greece, Scandis, Balkans and Ex-USSR countries vote for each other and in the end they announce winner no one agrees with. 2-3 more months artists, media and fans blame politics for their bad result and then on the 1st october they start their pre-selection shows again. Year after year for more than 50 years already.

Well he's quite funny in his monologues and his songs in russian/ukrainian are funny too but this his international attempt is beyound my understanding, I don't even know to laugh or to cry but I keep coming back to it again and again

i gave up on ESC when norway came last in 2004 (he was actually quite good). and it didnt help that lordi won last year.... and that wigwam got 9th place in 2005

can you believe it? the norwegian contestant from 2004 told me that he wanted to hook up with my cousin couple of years ago. we were sitting in a sauna, fully dressed with skiing gear (or more precisely... after skiing gear). that was hot (temperaturewise)!

anyways... i dont know what to say about ESC

lol sob, to be frank I never saw ESC as a source of great music, neither it ever was place for justice. It's like politics+show competition that hardly has anything to do with music Our 2 best songs finished 15th and 9th lol but then we also had top3 3 times when we shouldn't.

I just like guessing who will vote for who and who'll be trashy enough to steal vote of others in the chosen year. It's a strategy game kind of ))
