CALL TO STRYKER AND ANY VT STUDENTS:

I was almost asleep last night...safe and comfortable in my own bed...happy to know I have no children and no family members to worry about at VT...then I thought of you. I couldn't remember if you HoF'ed last night (in the very few minutes I was online) or not. I did not sleep well. Now, before work, I looked and indeed you did HoF about 8 hours ago.

I have not had to worry about growing up in a time when school shootings have been increasing in frequency. I have no children (yet) so I have not had to fear for their safety, under such circumstances. The closest I have come to any such trama was the untimely, and accidental, death of my best friend in high school. [This is in no real way similar to the trauma that students of VT have experienced.]

My heart goes out to Stryker and everyone at VT. Do know that you touch people and are meaningful to people online as well as irl and that you have support and many well wishes!!

Yes it was quite a shocking event, but my friends are all ok. No one can say EU doesnt have a close community; its quite heartwarming
