Some thoughts about the world we live in.

HI, first of all I'd like to introduce myself, I'm Beck The Tiger Johnson ingame, some of you know me, and some of you don't.
The fact is that today I went over some stuff and realised a fact that I find unacceptable : the world is becoming more and more evil and messy. Friends don't seem friends anymore, people have metal masks on... Only 2 out of 10 friends are brothers and you can talk with them truly, without risks of getting laughed at or other stuff like that.
Another thing is the trend. I mean, I have done some short experiments, and thought a bit, finding that if you don't dress up to the trend or at least a bit close you won't get respect from other people, they will refuse to look you in the eyes, you will get excluded from groups, etc. Want an easy to understand example ? Look at the homeless, they don't have any other friends than other homeless people. I saw today a begger whom I know for a long time, he sits at a corner which I pass every day when I go to school.(I'm almost 18) The guy had a work accident or something like that, and is missing a hand and 3 fingers from the other, and has half burned face and can't speak clearly. And I saw a young lady, about my age, laughing at him, saying something like "haha lol he's drunk" ... I mean how can you laugh at a disabled man ? What world are we living in ? I give the man some money when I have, I don't know if he buys alcohol or anything else with it, but he does buy food, because he can't live without it! So I give him money because he needs it more than I do. And when I don't have money I can give him some advice and shake his hand.
I have saw the "trend" phenomenon in Entropia too, I dressed in OJ for a day and it was clearly indicated that I wasn't getting the same respect as wearing my brigadier coat, I even tried to talk to some people but they ignored me, and when I went to the terminal and put my coat back on they came back and said sorry... What's this world coming to ? Are we plastic bags with etiquettes on us which say our importance ? I try not to judge people by their appearance, I judge them by their thoughts. And homeless people shouldn't exist, it's the state's fault! I am thinking of applying a petition and getting 10k signatures for the guy to get a home, I'll get the signatures and forward the list to the mayor.

This is a message to you, the people of this forum, to make a better world, to be friends and help each other.

i dont know if the world is becoming more evil, i think that people are as evil as ever, its the toys they have that are becoming more dangerous.

medias don't help obviously, we see more evil today than before.

as for friends, if we are very lucky we have only 1 or 2 real real friends in a whole life span, but mostly we have acquaintances only unfortunately.

i have a little test for you to know if you have a real friend, ask your self the following:

if i kill someone by mistake and i call my best friend, at 3 am, wake him, his wife and children, and ask him help, how many people you know will answer first:

"where did you leave the body?"

and then you'll see that your friend list is suddenly very short.

as for the orange clothes, thx god people ignore us if we are not trendy, like that we can have peace from time to time.

as for your friend, to give is a great feeling, and giving is better than taking...

so i hope you find him a roof.

I have thought a lot about this too IRL and in EU. Everything you have mentioned. Have you seen that movie In Pursuit of Happyness? Made me open my eyes even more. Sad world we live in. Good luck in getting that man a roof over his head.

I hate to sound cynical, but your hitting a point in your life when your realizing the "Facts of Life".

Everyone (and I do mean everyone) has their own values and goals in life and there is no changing this. They are neither good nor bad, just different than you (and I).

Some people value the way you look, others might value what is in your head and others might value what is in your heart or even value you for what you can give them.

Everyone has some kind of goal in life (or else what sense is there in living) and many are driven to meet those goals under any circumstance. Some help others along the way, some will lie, cheat and steal to get what they want.

Best you can do is ally yourself with people that value and respect you for what you are and not what they want you to be. It's a hard learning process to spot the difference and I'll admit that I have failed myself on many an occasion.

Lastly, I was given many peices of advise from my father before he died long ago but three have always stuck in my mind (more now than earlier in my life).

#1. "Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see."

#2. "Friends are easy to get. I can buy a round in a bar and get dozens. Family will be there for you no matter what the circumstance. True friends are not just friends.. they are family."

#3. "I know, what I say doesn't make much sense right now, but later in life you will understand and even repeat it to your kids. You'll then tell them "My father use to say that" and you'll know it's right."
