 PRESENTS  Hi Everyone. Straitjacket productions consists of me & my longtime friends Phil Davis & Jim Rathbone. For the last 9 months or so we've been working on A Tale of Two Galaxies, a Startrek/Starwars crossover fan-film in two, fifteen minute parts. Part 1: Long Live the Empire! is out now, Part 2: Revenge is a Sith Best Served Cold will be arriving before the end of the year. Nice work. Loved it. Graphics especially well done considering the original makers budget and how little they try to show flyby shows and externals of Enterprize etc. We were lucky enough to attend an Apple bragging fest a few years ago and some of the guys resposible for Voyager's graphics were doing demos using combustion 2 and other apps.....a flypast of the ship cost them 250k a pop if I remember right, so you done good on a budget indeed.
 Just one point...the only thing that I could criticise is the acting....made my toes curl in places it was so flat and/or rushed? Rehearse it until it sounds natural and you will have a cracker on your hands there with the next ones. It's worth the effort and you obviously made a big effort with the rest of this project. Jean Luc doesn't skip through the log entries ...he is sitting peacefully slowly and unhurriedly speaking in various tones isn't he? If the guys on terminal panels didn't press everything willy nilly so fast ...that would be cool too. Looking forward to the next thrilling instalment to see WTF goes on from where we left them ...I wasn't expecting anything this good when I clicked that link Well Done to All Involved. t |

U should go for a full lenght flick, can't wait to see what will happen, or if the evil plonk..errr hastings will take over the The Hood... Greate work with the CGI Egg and plz continue to do many more of them. Looking forward to spending a weekend watching a whole series of them, so don't just do 2 plz... make more |

glad you posted this egg90's been working hard at this for th past 8 to 7 months i'm realy happy with the result. Quote:

Yeah the only thing that we were worried would ruin the whole thing from the start was the acting. The project is meant as a showcase of our talents in production, editing, writing & CGI. None of us had any acting experience, or knew anyone that had, in the end it was down to us with our friends & girlfriends who we managed to dupe into it We were running out of willing volunteers & were also wondering how on earth we'd manage a convincing Klingon look without spending a bucket load on costumes & makeup. We posted on a couple of startrek forums & got in touch with KlingonsRUs, 3 guys who hire themselves out to conventions/events & were willing to take part for free! A BIG thanks to them. Check out the production page of our site for the full story of how it came together. A Tale of Two Galaxies - Production Unfortunately I wouldn't hold your breath for any more after pt2, the sheer amount of effort its taken to produce means we wont be doing anything else like this without being paid for it!  Which also means if someone wants to pay us we cant use the startrek/starwars universes due to copyright. However we do hope to do more work together as a professional outfit, a completely original sci-fi story would be great we'll have to see... |

Very cool movie!
Another friend of me has also made a homemade movie. In fact, it also is a sciense fiction movie ... I don't like to watch movies, but I enjoy such movies. Screw all those 10 million dollar movies and 20 million dollar actors, these are the real movies: a state of art!   |
