The different prices are due to what resellers have or haven't targeted yet.

E.g.
1.Reseller buys Item +1k above market
2. Other nubs see "hey the price of that is going up better get one while i can afford it" - and price rises as false demand increases
3. Reseller sells at market, or just below for a 'bargain' quick sale. - so the market looks to have 'stabilised'. And the attitude becomes "oh that's the price now". So a whole heap of people now have a useless overpriced item they are not willing to part with for less than they bought, waiting for a sucker to buy it. Got bored of weapons amps, they moved onto inflating armor prices by 200%.
5. Nubs complain about high prices of worthless nonSIB but also complain about "this (L) crap" even though it's superior in every way...then justify that the slight increase in range make it worth XXk more because they never heard of buying a bravo for tagging ...
6. People 'analyse' that the above increases in the market were due to demand, and state they would be good investments. Not realising there is no demand in the first place.

I was pleasantly surprised by mine after 1200ped ammo (800 had been in team). But just think - you can sell that lr32, and BUY the cb26! I had already bought one (perhaps prematurely) before i looted. So now I have two. Great for ossoecollum

I'll say it before someone else does If you loot an item it is not 100% it is marketvalue - a few peds for auction fees and stuff. Using a U weapon u can sell the gun at high % and buy loads of ammo with the extra peds.

I use a Mod stark. The real thing I have noticed since I started using it is that I am depositing less and hunting more. If there was no markup on the L guns then it would be a no brainer for anyone under 75 HA, but with current markup, anyone over 50HA is better off with the Mod Stark.

As Slither says the Mod Stark has much better range and faster fire rate so more damage is done before a mob gets to you saving on fap and armour decay.

It depends what you want to hunt. If it were oss, malc, globster, big bots or other mobs too big for you but you can outrun, yes, it might be slightly easier. If it were aurli/krelt, big atrox, atrax stalker, I think people see the value of a weapon doing 15 dmg/sec more.

As for the "oh it's not really 100% if not looted" well that depends on how you plan your own economy - maybe instead of markup you think cb26 @ 200% (and dropping) as anecessary expense (like fap, armor decay) and then use it at max eco.. Unless insanely high level or using decoys on above mobs... no advantage of using a grossly overpriced weapon when it can be hunted with fox ME+(L)...with the trend going to high-regen mobs

Well we were talking about grossly overpriced weapons and inconsistenceies therein, modstark is a good example of small gain for huge cost, much like manipulated weapon amp prices.
