Before anyone asks, no I am not selling this armour - just interested what people think.

I know how much I paid for it, but I believe the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts - so would be interested to hear your thoughts.

It's the only set ingame, gloves were looted from argo elite in an event - foot was looted from hogglo but I don't think anymore have dropped.



There's a couple of common misconceptions with this armour. First that it's just a spider hunting decay bitch, and the second that the low 13 impact makes it too weak for everyday use and it's just a specialist armour.

Although you clearly cant hunt pure impact mobs with it, the way that armour plates work means that cut/imp and stab/imp mobs are very well protected against (better than shadow+5b for large armax ) and ofcourse, cut/stab/imp and cut/stab mobs are great to hunt in chronicle.

Actualy, the low 13 impact and the way armour plates work make this a very effective and efficient armour. With angel+5b or shadow+5b if you get a low hit from a mob that the armour could handle itself, your plates still decay. With chronicle you pay less for armour decay due to it not protecting against the imp damage but the plates cover that meaning u will often get the same or better average protection for a lower overall decay.

eg.

Hogglo young:

Angel+5b
Average dam taken = 2.1
Max dam taken = 10
Average decay = 13.277


Chronicle+5b
Average dam taken = 1.1
Max dam taken = 1.9
Average decay = 11.964

More protection for less decay This is a common occurance. You will often see chronicle getting equal or better protection for less decay than angel. When the damage gets higher you will also see times when you get equal or better protection than shadow for less decay (run some mobs through wiki if you don't believe me )

In the above example hunting young hoggs you would save 1.313pec per hit! Lets say 10hits per mob (using dam/sec weap like an i2870 and evade <40) and 50mobs per hunt (around 25k ammo, doubt u can do more in angel with it's low tt) that would equal around 6.5ped saved in armour decay - a heavy hunter camping young hoggs could save 50ped a day in armour decay over using angel+5b

Ofcourse, with angel you'll end up with much lower protection by the end of the hunt and be fapping more which will result in an even higher saving.

Its a great and surely atm unique set, so I guess the value will get a boost just from the "uniqueness", also it looks kinda cool. Price is ofc always up to what someone is willing to spend to get the actual item, there is always people with more money then brain

I dont want to guess on the price, cause it wouldnt be more of a wild guess and I would put an imp fap higher then any armor better then tiger but wth..100-120k ?

I just done a hogg hunt and i'm fairly certain the 33/33/33 dam for hoggs listed in wiki is wrong. So although the example i posted above may be inaccurate for the specific mob listed, it still shows the eco advantages of having a reletivly low dam type when hunting multiple dam type mobs with plated armour.

I have heard people who said they were surprised at the decay on shadow compared to angal (ie. not as much as expected) and I guess this is partly due to the low stab of shadow.

just to help you put some numbers together... I`ll just brainstorm some...

I think this armor could be more worth then shadow, only because of the uniqueness, and a buyer would be a person that arent hardcore skiller... rater chipper with to much money... (shadow price is ~135k) if you calc last sold foot+set WO foot.

For a regular skiller that want to skill up and not mainly chip I dont think anyone would be competing with "rich nubs".

What also brings the set down abit, is the pk protection, angel/vigi -ish.

I think it could be a shrewd move if MA introduces more and more mobs that don't do predominantly Impact damage. I guess we'll wait and see.

Most recent mobs introduced seem to be following this trend, i'm hoping letomie is a nice cut/stab mob

using your own logic we would need to know how much you paid for the "parts" in order to put a price on the set

Well 1) supremecy is the most overrated thing in game, and 2) 2/7ths of the chronicle set is unique. So I'm not sure supremacy - X PED is a fair way to price this.

On the other hand, I agree with slither, he must have more ped than brains. ;p
