actually, i'm calling it the september dip.

with that said, there seems to always be a buying frenzy. we just wish to understand what we SHOULD ask for our loot versus what we think we CAN ask.

With some exceptions (for good reasons), most old school unlimited stuff has steadily (or frighteningly) gone up, through the summer. That's all I'm saying, we seem to be past the old pattern.

As for what you should ask... I'd probably set the minimum at 200k and be somewhat patient, but not hold out for too long. 200k is a pretty good payday, even split 5 ways, still an ath for everyone.

for sure this summer was not the norm. not even sure last summer was. and i didn't really own much of substance the year before that so hard for me to even say what a summer dip was, ofc, you're right xen, this year the model broke the mold.

well ok, i shot the x5 for a day only amped beast. stepped up and finally found a dante this morning (yes, i'm a blp nub, haven't owned a dante in quite some time), and then finally this afternoon i returned to using the MM and let doctorh have a go at trying out the SIB. the first time i shot the MM in two days, i said "ahhhhhhh." with that said, i love both weapons and i find some good and bad things about both.

one, like i said, there are obivous differences between the two weapons even tho the dps X5 amped evil and MM a106 being the same. here is my take on those differences.

the MM is 86 attacks per minute. the X5 is 57. this difference in reload doesn't seem like much to the average person. however, the reload speed of the MM has always been one of it's biggest advantages. 57 is by no means slow to anybody but a MM user. i have never definatively been able to prove that mobs hit you less when you hit them more, however, ppl do believe that. what i can say is an aurli cannot possibly land two shots on me inbetween shots on the MM and they certainly can on the X5. worse is that two mobs can land 3 hits between shots on it. and as mob hits interrupt attack as well, the advantage goes to the MM.

the MM is 4.44 eco. the X5 + dante is 4.10 X5 + evil is 4.00. obviously the MM peaks out at a better eco. at level 70 or so in hit and damager, however, the X5 is just as good. the X5 hits 2.85 damage per pec at it's max. the MM 3.07. most ppl will never see a MM eco over 2.90 so the difference is rather small. advantage MM, but only slightly.

the range on a MM is 49. the range on the X5 is 30. obvious advantage slight to the MM. also at level 71, even tho the X5 is maxed there is no additional range on it. at level 101 hit on the MM range can become overclocked. undertermined at this time if the X5 actually overclocks as well at level 101. range, advantage MM on two counts.

as the MM does lots more smaller hits, overkill is greater with the X5. although, both weapons generate a good bit of overkill. the MM can be unamped to kill some of the smallest mobs in game. the X5 still a bit muh per shot to say kill some longu young or soemthing. advantage actually undetermined, however, definately less risk of overkill with the MM.

in soloing the MM is fast, in and out of faps is about as good as it gets in game, the X5 seems slow and plodding. get hit with a crit using the MM and take an extra accidental shot, and you might still live. do it with X5, and you're most likely dead. dependent on armor, ofc. advantage MM.

in team the X5 seems to be better. amped with dante today against two MM a106s in team, i outdamaged them like a mofo. i am paying more for that damage than they are, however, in team when not getting hit as much and when needing to fap is not as crucial, the X5 blows huge wholes via a maxed crit ability that very few MM owners can compete with. if a smaller mob ran up, the X5 brought home a larger share of the loot for the same amount of time. advantage X5.

laser amps are incredibly expensive, never loot and are no longer crafted, like all blp amps are, even if rarely, still crafted. a dante amp will cost you 2-2.5k, evil amp 7k. a106 costs 7-8k, a204 21-23k. advantage X5.

the X5 crits like a mother. the MM, well, dependent on skill level, but i've shot a MM for half a year and an i2870 before that for several, and i've never not even at 8.2 hit 9.0 crit ability seen a weapon crit like the x5 does. i suspect, in 24k usd worth of skills, my MM will act just like it. but for obvious reasons, this is an advantage for the X5.

if i keep chipping out BLP, then i stay on the top end of the damage bonus with the X5. for sacrificing .1-.5 of a damage point rather, and staying at level 57, just shy of 57.5, i get a 150% bonus skill on all damage skills. for me, skilling on that rate is huge, as my end goal is maxing a old school weapon. the MM never has a skill bonus, ever, and cannot be worked the same way. therefore, advantage X5.

perhaps pking with an X5 is not that huge a factor, but try to pk somebody outside of a ring with MM. advantage X5.

MM 5 points vs X5 5 points.

x5 is great weapon and if u amp it with evil, then it's one of dream weaps.

ok, MM have higher eco, but most ppl will not feel it if they will hunt uberemobs such like Aurli, Hugglo, etc...

150% or more but tbh I suspect this weapon will give you some serious gains regardless of in sib or not
