Earning Some Respect???

Hi all, after a few trips to the rig I learned that no matter how many times you show up in your undies asking nicely and so forth.... you always end up being PK'
ed. This made me think how do a n00b earn a little respect from more experienced players especially in PVP zones and the rig?

Are you asking how you can get oil or how you can not get PK'ed? They are very different, and frankly, you probably can't do either as a noob unless you are really lucky.

depends on who's at the rig. that and it depends on your wording as you're trying to enter the rig. usually, "please don't shoot. i'm unarmed and unarmored," translates to an easy pk victim. i don't know what to tell you. once, it took me well over 15 tries before i was allowed to stay without dying. perseverance and their boredom of killing me finally won! lol

as far as earning respect in places other than pvp... just don't be a douche, and most people will at least give respect.







ps: one rule that i try to make for myself when entering any pvp areas is "might makes right." i know full well that i can and will be killed so i have to be prepared for the consequences.

I am more to the not getting PKed side of respect, getting oil I know is another issue on itsself. I tend to greet ppl at the revive and help draggin trox out of the rig, ending in a horrid death for me but saving the ppl at the rig effort to do it themself. I would just like to stay there, coz its a long way to run every 3 min....

The first rule is to never, ever show up in an orange outfit or a pair of undies at the oil-rig. That's suicide.

Buy a decent outfit, anything but orange is fine. A good line is also helpful when you enter the rig-zone, but it might also kill you depending on your reputation. It usually takes some time to get known in the rig-zone, especially if you don't have any good equipment. But it can be done, if you enter the zone at the right time, and meet the right people.

Orange or not, just be cool and youll be welcome. Sooner or later they leave you be.

Ill tell you the best way to not be able to stay is start whining and bitching about constantly getting your ass handed to ya...thats a deathwish.

Everytime I go theres 1 nOOb that everyone says "leave (so and so) be, he/she is cool." (its usually me, lol)

Well this info will help alot, how much do a outfit cost? I am a little low low on peds... I have no equipment like a FAP to help the other players while they are keeping the trox at bay. I also tought that Orange or undies = "Please Shoot me now"

Ive witnessed "Orange and undies" being left alone at times....just depends whos there atm....

I know some rig-occupiers askk a nOOb to stand and watch for oil while they fend off attacks. Try this and be honest with the oil and youll have a shoe-in....
