Few mins ago i decided to go on my first run to the rig. After ages of avoiding big trox and with the help of a few people in the area i got to the rig. I walked towards it and got this

As i am a noob to the rig, can someone explain what happens here and tell me if this Voland guy owns it or something? Thanks

Ahh, Voland

It means he wants the oil for himself so he kills all who could potentially take the oil. Chatting with him is more fun than trying to kill him sometimes tho

No he doesn't own it! He just has enough firepower to keep others away so he can get the oil!

But gratz for getting there; thats a hard task

I can nearly guarantee you there would have been more Atrox at the rig if V. hasn't been there so you probably would have died anyway

Maybe you could promise to stay a distance from the actual rig itself and not try to take any oil, you just want to have a Noobie-Look-Around.

That's what I did my first time there. I got to stay for a few miinutes. It was cool.

It's a PVP zone where everyone is fair game and can, and most propobly will get shoot.

So do people just run in with their friends, kill who is taking the oil and stand there themselvs saying rig closed? If so...i need a bodyguard

i guess you went there to get some oil?

consider the possibility that other ppl want it too

if you now also know that it is a pvp zone, the "competition" can try to its firepower to prevent other ppl from taking it

"rig closed" means simply that in this case Voland won't share

basically, you have these options
1. leave it and go away
2. kill him, most likely several times, i guess he would come back
3. try to say you don't want oil, and stay away, that way you might survive at least, for a few min i guess

but it is indeed pretty good work to get there
if you are after oil to get cash it was a mistake most likely, but the fact that you reached it is pretty impressing

Hehe the same happened to me back then.
But I already knew about the "rig closed" stuff.

Well the guys that had closed the rig then did not even let me have the time to ask if I could stay and look from a distance.
A "something cat" lady killed me right after I asked if the rig was closed.

Very impressive you got there at all.
Good job.

Now head north and get the Nymphtown and Minopolis TPs if you don't already have them.
