Why do people carry loot into PVP3/4?

Sorry if that's a noob question but it just seems like if someone trots around PVP3 or PVP4 with a ton of looted items, then they're just asking for it.

Related question: Are there "pro" PKers, people who hang out in pvp not hunting or mining, but just looking for people to shoot 'n loot?

I don't know that anyone does that. Why would you think so? It's a problem: You get loot, and you don't wanna have to go to storage everytime. But you also don't wanna risk losing too much when PK'ed.
So you try to strike a balance.

We hunt miners, and other PK'ers. And if we're coming up dry, we hunt bots and apes. Sometimes they're one and the same.

Because there are nice resources to be mined and nice mobs to be hunted in those areas.

And yes, if someone is carrying a ton of loot and does not TP out to store it they are either asking for it or are very confident of their PK abilities

You can leave all yr stackables in storage before setting off but it's the the stuff you loot/mine while you are in pvp that's at risk.
I dont know if anyone exclusively pk's but it's certainly a part of some peoples income.

They might forgot that they have it (maybe down the list in inventory).

I got some allo hide in a pk fight in pvp4

I carry 1 piece of dung for them to snack on after I'm pk'd.

As for me... I tend to empty all goodies into storage before entering a lootable area, I'll hunt and assess whether I need to TP out to empty my inventory... however, I do find that I easily forget that it's lootable area, simply because I don't venture in there too often... then it all comes back when I get PK'd

I cant say for sure they loot better inside the zone, but It sure seems that way sometimes....Also Blood Moss is selling for around 4k% making an II claim worth between 30-40 peds

Its not how they loot its what they loot...

Some of the resources that can be mined there have nice markup.
And there are unique mobs in there that drop items that sell for nice markup.

Add this to the rush you get from being hunted and you have an exciting experience
