Hey guys, I just reformated my computer, as I like to do every so often, and decided to install comodo firewall instead of zonealarm, which I used to have, because I prefer the UI among other things.
The problem is EU just won't work When logging in I put in my username and password and it accepts that and brings me to the goldcard screen. I then put in my gold card code and click enter and EU just hangs until I get a message to say that it's lost connection. This didn't happen when I had zonealarm installed. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I might get it to work? Thanks, Hellfire |

Uninstall Comodo and test your theory.Or Go into the options and give eu an exception.

Just to test, like you suggested Lex.
I unistalled Comodo, and just using the built in XP firewall EU ran fine I then Installed Zonealarm and without changing any settings or anything EU ran fine. It must be a probelm with Comodo but i'm not sure what I read somewhere something about allowing invisible connections or something like that, but not sure what that means or how to do it ![]() |

In comodo there has to be an options or tools tab. Go ahead and click through there. There will probably be an area to create an exception, create one for EU. Never having used comodo i cant point you directly. But i am sure there is an option to create exception.

If changing the options doesn't work (JFGI?) It may be something along the lines of problems encountered with b/shock where the way it connects via root something -or-other (insert needlessly long explanation here) was always blocked by high-intensity firewalls

Doesn't comodo prompt you to allow the connection for the client loader and the entropia.exe?
It shouldn't give any problems if you allow it at the popup. Most of the times ^^ You could also try to set it as a trusted application when the popup appears, instead of just allowing it to make that connection. Have you checked if another popup doesn't come up after you enter the GC code? It will most likely be linden by EU if you are in full screen. btw have you installed the Defense+ module? If it does not get configured right trough the popups, them you have two options. Right Click on the tray icon->select open->click on the "Firewall" button at the top. Then select "Define a New Trusted Application". On the window that pops up, click "Select" and the choose "Browse..." from the drop down menu, search for the entropia.exe and click apply. This will create an application rule for EU so the firewall allows all requests. You can see that rule after it is created if you click on the "Advanced" button on the panel to the left and select "Network Security Policy". There you can see and manage all the rules the firewall has created from your input every time it prompts you to allow or deny. And that is the second way to configure it, and as advanced hints, you can configure it to only allow traffic on the ports EU is known to use, connect to MA IPs only, etc. (check the Connection and Login FAQ at the EU website) You have to add a new rule, then define what application you want to apply that rule to and finally add as many Network Control Rules as you need, where you can define ports, traffic direction (IN/OUT), protocols, addresses it is allowed to connect to, etc. This last option requires a bit of work, if you want to go that way and need help i can help you with that. |

Which version of Commodo are you running?
I've used it for some time and with the older version i needed to change more complicated settings but in the actual version it's usually enough to set EU as trusted application as others already said. Don't give up yet, it's a great free firewall if you know what you're doing. |

Ok so this is rediculous
In reinstall Comodo - EU doesnt work As Cougar suggested I set Entropia.exe as a trusted application - EU doesnt work I set the clientloader the unistaller and the client loader system process as trusted applications - EU doesnt work I disable defense+ - EU doesnt work I disable Comodo - EU doesnt work I set Comodo not to open on startup, exit and restart - EU doesnt work I unistall Comodo - EU works I reinstall Zonealarm - EU works It seems that just having Comodo installed causes EU not to work, how that is possible is above my level of expertise ![]() |

When there's a VU, you need to allow EU in Comodo before you can play (so when you launch EU, you need to Alt-Tab out to hit the Accept button in Comodo).
HOWEVER, from my experience, if Comodo is blocking it, you won't get to the GoldCard screen, you will enter your Username/Password and then it will give you a message saying you could not connect (at least it does for me). So if you're getting to the GoldCard screen, I have no idea what the problem is. |
