Question: hypothetical Hacking of a Gold card protected account

I expect to see one answer from MA:

"We apologize for weakness in our security system, we're investigating how hacking of your account could be even possible. After investigation we tracked hacker's avatar used to sell out your items and skills and locked it. Additionally we replaced all stolen items and skills. We hope that this experience will not ruin your enjoyment of Entropia Universe."

Answer other than this one would be purely outrageous. GC system they offer is supposed to work and have no weak spots. If it has, they should either give it for free or replace it with the one that doesn't have such weak spots...

If Mindark asserts that EU is the "safest virtual universe" but then they do not help their CUSTOMERS when they get hacked or scammed then they are just false advertising, aren't they? or are Swedish companies allowed to lie?

I wonder exactly who EU is safe for if they only help themselves when they are the victim of a hack?
MA has the resources to stop scammers.. if someone knew that they would get caught every time they hacked someone then hacking and scamming would probably not exist.

Maybe is worthwhile mentioning that an attacker should pick you from somewhere. To make a forced parallel with other situation, is like you'd wonder about the chances to hump Pamela Anderson when you never leave your house.

Theoretically is possible that Pamela to enter your window, practically it won't happen.

Also, if NeverDie, who obviously has a valuable account and some media coverage didn't got hacked until now, I would say this system is safe.

About some hacker using EU as "testing platform", lol.

A statement that they have the "safest virtual universe" is NOT saying "you will never ever ever get hacked"....

It is comparing their virtual universe to others out there and saying that out of the competitors versus MA, MA offers a more secure enviroment (SAFER) then others. STATEMENT IS NOT SAYING IT IS FULL PROOF!

Doesn't matter if you've a Gold Card, a Platinum Card, or diamond-studded Himi Card with DNA-sequence-matching biometrics - you're still SOL.

Well, fact is, MA uses a more secure protection of their accounts with the GC, then many online RL banks has.

This discussion about the magical uber hacker is getting more and more funny by the post... but I guess a lot of people have their main idea about a hacker from media and Hollywood films

Ofcourse its possible to circumvent the system, with clever enough rerouting and social engineering, but its very unlikely anyone would create a magic transparent "GC hack", and if they did, some international standardization organisations have some work to do

Still, fact is, for anyone to compromise it, there is just two ends to attack, either they attack MA, and if they succeed there, the fault is MAs.
Or they attack your computer, and if they succeed there, you're in more trouble, since the eula states you need to keep your computer clean.

1. I think it's very unlike that a GC account will ever be truly hacked
2. A phishing attack might one day succeed... But still unlikely imo.
3. You shouldn't really discuss how to hack GC accounts in such detail. Some weak souls might be inspired and tempted
4. IF it ever happened, I actually think MA would react quiet strongly, as it could undermine the general trust in their whole economy and thus potentially ruin MA. They may even close EU temporarily until the hacker is caught, the hacking method verified and deemed 'no real hack' or a new safety system is set up.

the Point of this Thread was to Get Individual responses to this "Threat" since it is Real in one way or another. My Secondary goal was to Make this a Real Issue with MA so they can See what You think about this subject. Since it Has to do with Everyones experience being enjoyable inside of EU. Furthermore We all have Invested in some way or form our money with the Promise of it being Removable. End of the Day for some thats what matters Can I get that back.

If Ma Records All transactions Between avatars then Why cant they Simply by Ip Address logs Return to the Right full Owner His/Her Stuff. Regardless of Who Now owns it. There is No Reason why not.

It May not be fair to the person who bought the hacked item but then how is it fair to the person who got hacked.
If your in possession of Stolen Property In Real Life you can be Arrested for it in most Countries.

Weak Souls Exist one way or another. the Question is what will MA do in such a case. I think the EULA is not clear enough on this subject.
