nvidia 8800 gt / gts are best for EU. You need pixel shader 3.0 on whatever card that you add in order to see the full work of MA on the graphics. I recently bought the 8600 gts (overclocked), it runs about $229 at Best Buy/Circuit City. The 8600 is about $60 less than the lowest priced 8800; I got the 8600 for the video portion of it being a great deal better. The 8800 is really the best for gaming though. There are many types of them and they run from $289 - $899 for the absolute best one. The $899 one is total overkill though but could be useful when CryEngine is fully installed. I'd not bother with it and get one of the ones under $300. By the time Cryengine is in, you will be able to get a better one than those currently on the market for about the same price or less I'm sure.
P.S. I've tried the best two ATI Radeon models 2600/2900 xt and they both sucked my left and right testicles. I had huge problems with both in regards to EU and wouldn't recommend either if you plan to spend a lot of time in Entropia. |

Just FYI, I have a Geforce 7600 GS, it's real cheap and i'm able to run EU at full settings with no issues. However, my CPU and RAM sure let the rig down. If you want a budget alternative, I can recommend this one for AGP. If your motherboard supports PCI-x then you have a whole lot more options.

Nicole,
You need to make sure that your motherboard supports PCI - Express in order to buy any of those cards I mentioned. If it doesn't, you will be forced to use an AGP card. There aren't many options for these with Pixel Shader 3.0. I'd probably get the 7600 AGP if you don't have PCI-E. If you're on a tight budget by the way, you can get a good PCI-E card for EU for around $70-130 at either of those stores I mentioned (Best Buy/Circuit City). Just make sure you check if you have AGP/PCI-E, card has Pixel Shader 3.0, and that you have your Credit Card with you. ![]() |

As far as I know theres no AGP version of the nvidia 8xxx series available (yet).
All cards Mercury mentioned require a PCI slot. EDIT: ...see above... |
