Can MindArk lock my ip?

I just come to think about this and can they do this?
It would be very nice because I know I only log into EU with this computer.
So the question is: can it be made?

It is possible for them to do that. In only takes a few lines of code.

But they currently don't have any public way of doing it. Email them and ask about it if you want. But I doubt they will take the time out to do it.

Oh it certainly is possible, can be done easily.

But they won't do it though, cause it will be too much work and bring a lot of problems and a whole new system for locking and unlocking IP addresses.
Also Dynamic IP's will be a problem.

All in all, MA won't do it cause it will bring along many things to think about.

I am sure they can... but would they? If they felt the need to punish someone it would be much easier to just ban the avatar regardless of the IP that avatar is using to log in. Even if you create a second avatar, your main one is still locked and so are the skills, items and PED.

At least here in the US, it is quite rare to have a static IP address. Your provider rotates them for various reasons.

They can lock you by your IP addy as well as your hardware.

Not sure about this but if someone already has a keylogger on your comp and steals your pw, then the extra step of emulating your IP isn't a deterrent at all right?

The wording of the OP leads me to think many are answering a question he didn't mean to ask.

The comment about only playing from one computer makes me wonder if the actually meant:

Can an EU account be locked TO a specific IP, dissallowing login to a specific account from any other IP address? I believe the answer to that question is "No".

MA can certain lock any IP out of the game, dissallowing login from a specific ip or range of IP addresses. That could be more a function of their network router than any game mechanics.

AG, perhaps reading too much into things.

Don't be to sure that you always be using the same IP.
I heard about a guy who tatooed his IP-number on his arm. And then got told it was a dynamic one. :-)
