Nicole gold card breaks


My card just died today and its not just a question of the batteries needing replacement, the person that was replacing the batteries put in a size to big and broke the back connectors.

I am writing this to let my friends no why I Will not be online for while

That's not good , don't think I'll try to replace the batteries on mine when it dies, that's why I have two extras already .

Wait, how do too-large batteries break the gold CARD?? Or did it break the reader? I'm confused here...

BTW that really sucks . Hope MA expedites the shipping!

But to be honest...replacing batteries is very easy so Why dont do it oneself.

My own GoldCard is now more then 4 years old and still working

sometimes it has a few problems but I figured out smashing it on the table normally helps ^^

Having replaced the batteries myself, I can't really see how can one break the reader using larger batteries?
But - stranger things have happened, i know

sucks to hear. i can picture how it would happen.. battery going in is a little too thick, or a little too large in diameter, so it yanks the soldered ground out of the little board in the reader.
not very hard to swap out, but it *does* require a delicate touch.

I think when u book a GC to MA, they send u a sincronized pack, GC + reader. I have two readers, only the one i received with the GC work, i mean he provide the correct codes. The other no.

Exactly how it happened the person changing the batteries was me… (ok I admit it)

See my car broke down and is currently at the shop some electrical problem draining the battery and causing the car to die every day, and with my bad leg can not walk the 10 blocks to the nearest store so I tried putting in these slightly thinker batteries that I had at the house, and the backing came right off.

Oh first I did try the usual bag the reader but it was completely dead, even when you pressed the two buttons you would get some type of reading but that was dead too.
