I thought I was running a bit slow today when an Exo old wasnt disappearing behind me as it should easily do.
So I conducted my personal Atrox Mature test: Running speed I am now at 59 agility and now Atrox matures can catch me again. I am very disappointed by this. ![]() Anyone else noticed this? - if not, try one of the above tests with an Exo, Atrox or animal of your own choosing. Last edited by Mega; 05-18-2008 at 10:35. Reason: Changed thread title from Running Speed Nerfed as it turns out the mobs are now faster. |

big question is whether ava's speeds are lower, or mobs speeds are higher ... if anyone has done a true speed test (distance/time) beforehand, that would be helpful im sure ... i didn't, unfortunately

I can't say definitely that we're slower - but it seemed to take longer between 2 bits of cover in PVP4 this morning.

Run speed has not changed, make sure you're not overweight >170kg, or carrying too many items >50.

Inflation.
Okay, after you stop laughing, I'm (semi-) serious. Ways MA has to adjust profits are nearly unlimited. The ones we notice, we complain about. So they tend to hide some items. Nerfing skills is a fact of life in EU. I've posted about player styles and such on other threads recently, so here is just an "on topic" piece. By making the mob faster or us slower, they reduce our play style ever so much, but deceptively so people won't complain (read: won't know what exactly to point at to complain). Now, instead of going for that OA (because the Alpha is too easy), we'll keep playing against the alpha longer. I'm fairly certain they also increased the attack speed of many mobs, but in miniscule amounts that cannot be measured accurately. Net effect of these tweaks (in aggregate) is to make our existing skills less effective than before. Yes, it's a nerf. Like all the other tiny little bites they take out of you. But it's part of the inflation that is inherent in the game's design right now. |

In the beginning MA created PE, and it was good. Then MA nerfed our skills and we played harder to achieve our successes. Then MA said "let there be EU" and we played under a new name. And so MA nerfed our weapons and we were displeased but loyal. Now, when MA massively nerfs everything and tells us to put our weapons and skill aside, to go forth and color and texturize our clothes, are we to do so dispite it being an abomination to what was ONCE good?!? |
