I never had problems before I used xfire. It may not be that, but I prefer to be safe. I use Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0. Not the cheapest, but for sure the best out there. I used Norton, but I don't like the firewall. Used ZoneAlarm, and even tho it was very good, it give me some problems I could not figure.

From those data you can see that skill gain is higher than the loss in a bad day. So selling the skills, can still put you in profit. This thread is here because Samy said something about this particulag pew pew gun. As you can see, skills pay more than 100 ped/hr and on the long run I make small profit from hunt. So is better investment than a mod fap. You need more skills, but if you chip up the difference from MM to mod fap you should be more than ok.
In that day I looted only one ESI. I also had only 6 runs. Even so, using market value on my loot (note that I keep and auction all the crap I get) I make profit and have no need to sell skills.

WoF has interrupted the "project". I will kill for few days other mobs because I'm bored with ambu, but i will come back to it to fill the empty post reservations.

As with most things in EU, there are multiple factors to skillgains. One factor is the kill bonus, so that killing small mobs (at least certain small mobs--and it may be it's a special type of mob, not the size, something i haven't tested) gives more skill gains per PED output, but there are practical limitations due to acquisition time and avoiding enormous overkill. Another factor is obviously how many shots you take, and (probably) the tt value of each shot. I'm guessing that the size of the gain is partially proportional to the output (tt), and the probability of a gain is fixed so that you get more chances with more shots.

I can verify from my own records the above--I can get more skills/PED output from small mobs but get them faster by blasting huge amounts of ammo at bigger mobs.

Note that this isn't quite right due to heavier amping and weapon decay of the small mob kills relative to the ammo burn. The difference is far more than can be explained by that, though.

I am keeping better records to compare straight across for total output tt vs. skills but don't have enough data recorded or the comparator finished.

do i understand right? u gain like 3 times more skill hunting low mobs due the kill bonus?

Just as a visual comparation i was hunting yesterday ambu and yes i could kill them non stop, but i didnt see as many green lines on my chat.

so i will be happy if u could confirm this?

My own observation is, that I seem to get more skill ups, the more loot is on the mob. Not in terms of value but rather quantity.
I hunt a lot of small mobs for skilling using a low damage pistol and alsmost always, if i get no skillups I also get no loot.
Burning a lot of ammo with one shot can let one skill faster, but firing more shots seems cheaper. Could also be, that there is also some kind of lootpool for skills on each mob.

from the dos prompt will let you know all ports that are open on your machine with active connections to them. Those above mention software firewalls have their limits ofc, you may want to look into a modem/router with a hardware firewall in it. Other than that some simple things you can do to make sure that your basic firewalling is setup is run the tests from ...

PS. Being behind NAT will not save you. As soon as you initiate any peer to peer activity within XFire or other program, ie. Voice chat, File Transfer, messaging, skype voice chat, etc, your IP can easily be sniped Anyone who has done a basic Microsoft Administration course has the knowledge of how to do this and access your machine if you have not got it secured.
