Animal Taming Marksmanship Ranged Damage Assessment

Thanks for doing the test Frostblaze.

On many occasions, after charging up and starting the beam, the ambus will run off after someone (as they do ), and I would still get a succesful pull from an ambu that was now a good 20 or 30 meters outside of range.

Coop is undoubtedly the most experienced sweater involved in this discussion, so I am prepared to accept that this may have been lag (i'm not on the fastest connection ) but I do still think Frostblaze is right, but I'm not an experienced enough sweater to stake my life on it.

Myth busted

Btw, these yellow lines in chat show that I'm out of range. Now getting ready, that someone will say I was actualy in range and just the game showed that I needed to be closer or tat the mob moved or i cheated etc.

EDIT: If i were uber, would then my word be enough or would
I still need to make vids to prove that I'm not a liar?
Excellent test and presentation of evidence (+rep). I tried this out myself, and sure enough, you can take 2 or 3 steps back, be out of concentration range, and still aquire sweat. Take another step or two back, and then you are out of range for getting sweat.

This is quite an interesting piece of data, since it might delay the mob agroing on you to be those couple steps back. As someone noted earlier, it does seem like they changed the concentration range some time ago so that you have to start closer.

Btw, I certainly never called you a liar, and can't remember someone else doing so. It's quite possible to be mistaken about something, as I partly was in this case. Vids are not necessary to prove how something works (though it helped), but evidence of some type of rigorous investigation is. There are too many anomolies in EU to accept a once-or-twice occurance as the normal way something works.

There is lag, and then there is Mindforce lag, which can be a whole different animal. MF lags caused by the server can last a minute or longer, during which your beam or concentration animation will continue.

I don't discount the possibility that some other anomolie occured for you as well, but I wouldn't plan my sweating strategy on getting sweat from out-of-range mobs, either.

from my experience
i sweated kinda often via sweat and run tactic at AH
usually snable fem young
when they were at the edge of the inner radar circle, i stopped, turned around, started the beam and ended the sweating before or at the moment they came back

i gonna test this again, but it felt for me like the concentration range was lowered (so, out of range for conc)

that is one possible explanation

lag another

but i have a third one

when is it actually determined that you get sweat?

when you start the beam? unlikely
in the middle? could be
or when the beam ends? could be as well

No probs, sry about that.

Anyways, these times when I got sweat from running mobs or while running for TP while the beam was going coul'd have been from MF lag. Also, somitimes I've noticed the loot window poping up few secs after the beam has ended. One other thing I'd like to add is that when I satrted it was possible to use vivo for healing yourself while the beam was going, but the last time I tried it didn't work anymore.

I never thought about it this way. It even could be random. This random could come from differnet workloads the server has to deal with at different times. I wonder, how many sweat calculations the server is able to do at any given time. If there is a fixed number then the latest calculations would be put on hold to wait for the first ones to finish, therefore also even the time when the calculations are done could vary.

Sry that I can't describe it better, I hope it makes some sense...
