I know that bigger mobs have more sweat to give. But my numbers (less than 200 at beginning and later 300 with ese) were both from swamp camp, not from Neas.

Hello

On my first day playing, I was sweating at Swamp camp. I collected about 100-150 per hour, dieing lots, but gaining some very useful evade.

On my second and third day playing, I was sweating at Nea's place. I started there with about 65 sweat gatherer skill, and collected anything from 450 to 600 per hour depending on how many people were there sweating.

If there were very few people there I would die more often and collect maybe around 450 per hour.

If there were many many people there (Saturday and Sunday) I would collect maybe around 350 per hour.

If there were about 15 to 20 people sweating the one mob in an organized fashion I would collect maybe around 550-600 per hour.

I now have a little over 300 Sweat Gatherer skill, but I have yet to notice any difference in my change of success or the amount of sweat per success.

IMO, Defensive skills play a big part in your ability to gather sweat. My mentor told me this not long after I started. I've done a little research and it seems to be accurate...

Ok, I did take some notes 6 weeks or so ago, in case this came up (I was pretty bored), I've just found them

SG 3269 (at the time)

Swamp Camp

Hour 1 435 (6 deaths)

Hour 2 542 (8 deaths)

Hour 3 600 (didnt record the deaths)

It took me 2 hours 2 minutes to get 1000 (435+542 = 977 from above)


I was healed by the healers but wasnt focused and didnt wear protective armor.


As others have stated, time of day, numbers of other sweaters, whether you are getting 2s or 22s etc can greatly affect the results. Some days I could just about get 250 an hour.

Sometimes it happens that specific servers stop giving away any sweat. Happend several times, so far. It happened at Phönix and it happend at Nea´s.

This breaks are short time breaks, mostly fixed after a day or so. (after bombarding MA support with support cases about no sweat )

Another reason is that servers are different in Loot, and so they are different to sweat drops.
You can get shitty sweat results at one server, then change to another and all is fine.

I made a post asking this a few weeks ago and got nothing that made any sense.

To reinterate, I didn't make this thread to discuss wheather sg skills mean more sweat, it was the foundation but the point was about those who feel the need to harass sweaters by volunteering there opinion, correct or not, without anyone asking. Not that I don't think it is worth debating, been quite interesting actually, almost as good as who killed Kennedy. It just sad'ens me that not one person has said anything about those who harass. It is them I consider idiots, not because they belive the skill is worthless but because they feel the need to be so vocal about it and demean others with it.

Nice post! Pretty well answers the question of whether sweating is harder at the lowest skill levels.

The concentration/sweat cycle takes approximately 12 seconds. That means 5 attempts per minute, or max 300 per hour. With a 20% success rate, and a uniform distribution between 2 and 22, you have an average of 720 bottles/hour for "ideal" sweating conditions.

Of course many things can reduce your attempts/hour, like concentration interruptions, dying, fapping, killing dry mobs, running to wet mobs, pm's or chat, lag (mf lag can be really bad at times).

There is also considerable variability built into the success rate and amount/pull, so that hours well above and below the average are likely to occur. A quick Excel simulation of 510 sweating hours gave this distribution of bottles/hour:

Minimum hour was 462 while 1000 was the max, with 717.7 the mean.

Also, some things will cause you to have 0% chance of getting sweat, such as when a mob runs out of your sweating range while the beam is still going.

Bottom line: your Sweat Gathering skill has no bearing on the sweat you collect, but your skill in gathering sweat can have significant effect. And next time someone tells you they "average" 1000 bottles per hour, just

Your server is determined by your location, as each server covers a given area.

I can't say I've heard someone running around harassing ppl by saying sweating will never get better in some kind of attempt to discourage them from sweating. That doesn't mean it hasn't happened though. More often I hear people saying incorrectly that sweat skill improves your chance of getting sweat, or saying ridiculously that they "average" 1000 bottles per hour. I tend to correct these with the facts that sweat skill won't increase your production, but improving defensive skills and getting better at the mechanics of sweating will.

IMO, giving false hope is no better than giving false discouragement.

Wrong. I've gotten sweat when mob has run out of the inner circle on my radar while the beam was going.

If the beam is in range at the end of the cycle, it has a chance to succeed.

(For example chasing a fast creature that stops to bite some other poor individual - going out of range for a few seconds is fine)


0% success if the cycle ends out of range.
