(too lazy to look through a million posts from search, even if it's my friend..)
It came to my notice that more of more players wish to concentrate in one profession only, and therefor they skill out other professions. I must admit, that I have been getting the same thoughts, but I'm too afraid of skilling out a specific thing. What happens to your common skills if you f.x. chip out all tailoring skills. Or mining skills. what if you chip out crafting skills - f.x. engeneering? Sorry for a stupid Q, I just find the whole skill-system confusing. I know some say that chipping out (or in) ruins the balance of your skills and fuuk up your avatar. I really don't wish to do something stupid. I chipped out everything once, but that was ALL - and had to build up all again. But I have some mining skills which I never use f.x. - and I'm pondering if crafting is just too expensive to continue with. And this thought keeps coming up. Even though I know there are as many opinions about how the skill system is build up and what chipping does to your avatar - I'm interested in knowing if there's any experiences out there worth mentioning ... |

One way to do this without chipping out the wrong skills could be to make a list of skills to keep. Then fill it out like this:
That's about it... You can chip out anything not on your 'keep skill list'. You can check which skills affects each profession in this great thread by JimmyB. I think the same information is available on entropedia.info too. |

You can see which skills affect what profession on entropedia or in the skill optimizer.
So if you want to extract all manufacture related skill you can check there if some affect other professions too. For mining: Don't extract mining and drilling as these affect your HP. For manufacturing: Don't extract LWT / BWT as you need it for hunting. |

Good advice here Lykke about reading up what skills affect what. I chipped out my mining skills not too long ago, thinking I just didn't mine very much anymore, and now I find afterwards that some of those affect HP

Ah thanks - already good advice
And hp is one of the things I'm worried about. I do remember loosing hp when I chipped all out last time - when removing mining skills, but not which in particular .. and then another fear is of course, that I regret and wish to start mining again .. but that is something completely different ![]() |
