I think the most (including me) would prefer skills to be worthless rather than they decay. Stupid idea.

The solution is to make skills usefull. To make them not worth chipping out. Because now they are useless and I explained it in my previous post in this thread.
I must agree on the remark, "better worthless than decaying!" Let's say i have to go out of town for business or go on holiday. I can't play EU for a few days/weeks, i come back and my skills decayed, what bizarre bullshit will that be. Then only the people without a job or other things to do, can raise there skill level?!?!??!?!?.

Will make me quit EU immediatly.

-------
Make skills usefull: I maxed almost every affordable L gun. No need for me to skill up any further now, since all the interesting NON L guns are unaffordable. And almost everyday they become more unaffordable.
So make them skills usefull MA!

Just a bad idea from me:
WHY DONT WE END THE WHOLE SKILLING PROCESS ITSELF? no more skill-gain needed, no more Hit Ability: 0.0. Just bring money, like in the real world economy.

They just need to make the weapons/tools with a higher skill requirement to be more appealing, and then people will want more skills.

Voila, we have a solution.

define: appealing.

Are weapons or tools that cost massive k's appealing? maybe for the top 0.5% of the avatars, but the rest maybe gets frustrated by it.
By the rest i mean, players that didn't start >3 years ago, hence players that started after the items stopped dropping almost totally. Players that started after the skill-nerf. Etc etc.

Dont get me wrong, i play EU cause i like it a lot and i can afford to deposit. But some things in EU are frustrating the majority of middlevel players(like me). And that midlevel is probably where most of the money comes from, cause (real) ubers just have to sell a gun they looted a few years ago and they have enough k's to shoot for a while.

Hehe. your thught are good, but skills is not enugh to make you be able to take down the worst mobs ingame, it requeries gear too, so even if it gets overskilled, what is overskilled btw anyways?

People still wont be able to take on larger mobs easier since they are limited to the gear that mindark realses, its not like a weapon gets stronger in itself the more skilled you are, it just gets more effective to use, so you will need gear, and there is a limited ammount of gear out there still.

But i allso think that ofc skills help killing things, but non the less i still stand for the thing i said up there, even if you got skilsl you need gear, and with gear you still need skills to make it effective. do i make sense?

Skills are worht as much as someone is willing to give
If a few ubers leave they will drop. If esi's become rarer, the margin of profit gets smaller.
Skills are not "caged peds", they are a tool you can use. Don't expect to sell it at a high price when everyone has high skills wich get higher each day, while buyers are getting fewer and fewer due to the sib system

I really don't see this as a problem.

At the rate that skills are increasing only very few people will have high enough skills to be more eco with old-style UL weapons than L weapons.

I think there will be more people with UL sib weapons (e.g. hl8 ul) than people with really high skill levels.

For most of popluation the only skills that make some real difference (once they max their favorite L gun) are evasion/dodge and ones that contribute to hp (and maybe paramedic to lesser extent).
Having more of those skills just allows you to hunt bigger mobs, thus gambling more -- nothing game-breaking in that.
