Hello all, I just now today reached 2000 in rifle after three long months and $250+ US dollars of playing hours on end, now I don't want to sound like I am whining but after all that I would have thought that there would be something at the end of that long trek, a small gift, some flashing swirlies, maybe a trumpet sound or two, but no what did I get for this long effort.....
absolutely NOTHING!! What was that could you say that again? yes that's right, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! It is no wonder Entropia has a hard time retaining new people, where is the students motivation to graduate if all your students efforts go to someone else? eg. mentoring gift. What about a graduation gift, something that is fully decayed but can be repaired and is a little better than what you can buy, kinda like the mentor gifts? It would go a long way to please your new graduates and retain them a bit longer and help with the mentor program at the same time by giving the graduate something to look forward to instead of the major disappointment I got when I reached my goal and got nothing for it not even a little recognition. So is there any one out there that feels like grads should get something, anything, post here and lets let MA know that this is not the best way to earn new peoples trust. Lets give them a few Ideas to take care of new people to keep that loot pool full ![]() Last edited by Zedrick Stone; 06-13-2008 at 01:16. Reason: misspelled title oops |

Firstly Gratz for you graduation
, i think you right about what you're saying, for a disciple graduation is a very important step, I think it should at least be mentioned in global chat, something like:XXX XXX XXX has graduated from discipleship by reaching XXX in XXX skill, congratulations. |

Whetehr or not the current system is correct, I believe the idea is this.
The disciple and mentor form a bond, and along the way the disciple is given things, possibly including a graduation gift. The mentor gets a gift from the system, since in the relationship, he gets nothing concrete (except the bond of course). I know it does not always work this way, and many disciples are mis-treated, but I do understand why the reward system from MA works as it does. |

Making it to graduation is an achievement worthy of posting here!
Gratz ![]() I do agree that disciples who make it through graduation deserve some type of recogition, there are so many who don't make it that far. ![]() |

I agree that a diploma would be very cool! That's a fun gift with no value except the personal value. I am all for it.
And for the farmed disciples, as I said, many disciples are mis-treated. It is sad, but true. The system does not work as intended always. But I see why MA gives a gift to the mentor. From the MA point of view, it should be the job of the mentor to give a gift to their graduate, even if that gift is a pat on the back. This is not a bad idea on their part. The bad thing is the people who farm disciples in the first place. Unfortunately, we, as humans have never had an easy time controlling the behavior of others. Either way, a big gratz due to any disciple who graduates. And really any noob who makes it through the first month and stays in EU. |

I still think joining a good soc is better than having a bad (farmer type) mentor.

There are lots of people who never had mentors and they got nothing either. Should they be complaining too? THere was a time when mentorship didn't exist. Should people who skilled up during that time complain also? I would have thought that if you had spent the amount of time skilling up for grad, you would have at least researched enough about EU to realise that it isn't about getting token rewards for small achievements. Maybe that will change though.

I have spoken to my mentor less than ten times in that three month span and been on two whole hunts with said mentor what a help that was. When I really needed help I had to provide it myself there, was no one to lean on for anything nor did I expect it. But you who post thing as this will only see the complaint and not any solution, which is what I am trying to do in this thread, to show that a simple diploma recognizing the effort put forth would go a long way to make people feel like they earned a little respect even if only a little. |
