Do you believe that perception benefits your loot?
Maybe 2 perceptions in a row, maybe spin once followed by two perceptions? Maybe when a soc mate logs in and you get perception then loot will improve. Then kill all mobs on the radar to get the big one. I found some interesting research into this behavioural conditioning and the development of superstitions. I'm sure MA laugh their asses off at all the perception loot theories that abound. [edit] Superstition in the pigeon One of Skinner's experiments examined the formation of superstition in one of his favorite experimental animals, the pigeon. Skinner placed a series of hungry pigeons in a cage attached to an automatic mechanism that delivered food to the pigeon "at regular intervals with no reference whatsoever to the bird's behavior." He discovered that the pigeons associated the delivery of the food with whatever chance actions they had been performing as it was delivered, and that they subsequently continued to perform these same actions. “ One bird was conditioned to turn counter-clockwise about the cage, making two or three turns between reinforcements. Another repeatedly thrust its head into one of the upper corners of the cage. A third developed a 'tossing' response, as if placing its head beneath an invisible bar and lifting it repeatedly. Two birds developed a pendulum motion of the head and body, in which the head was extended forward and swung from right to left with a sharp movement followed by a somewhat slower return. ” Skinner suggested that the pigeons behaved as if they were influencing the automatic mechanism with their "rituals" and that this experiment shed light on human behavior: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B.F._Skinner ARE YOU A PIDGEON????????????? |

There are shitloads of pidgeons out there mate.
The perc thing is mostly coincidence and is at best an extremely poor indicator. What makes me laugh is when ppl actually call a direction when they receive the perc msg as well It is nice to believe in something though.Human nature has developed into this over hundreds of thousands of years and yes you are correct we are all predisposed to superstitious behaviour. How do you think religion, belief in gods deities and worship all started? |

wtf is a pidgeon ?
![]() I do believe in perception meaning there's a good loot in the area. Some people believe in some "god" named Lootius. Some people believe depositing several thousand $ to buy uber gear will improve loot - we all believe in something. |

Believing in perception doesn't equal to finding the loot...it's a matter of observing mobs. Associating perception with loot programming is not superstition, according to what I know of it. Praying for good loot is, perhaps?
And people are pigeons in more ways than one, not just perc-looters ![]() |
