Doh! You're right. It never caused my professional standing to lag, just unlocked skills like RDA.

I checked and it seems the Hit Ability thing is approximately right. Anyone figured out something like that for Mining skills?

dex also helps with hunting profstanding
because after i inserted 5 chips in a row
(to get more hps and help with tailoring)
i became master laser sniper that was just an added bonus

I am an addict

I did some hunting since the last chips so the skills grew a bit. During the hunt around rifle level 2560 I got extra rifle skill and +1 Health Point.

I did some extra chips to get more info.

Start situation
Handgun: minimal damage 9.4 HA 1.3 CHA 3.6 max range 30.4 (EWE EP-21)
Rifle: minimal damage 12.3 HA 1.9 CHA 4.3 max range 66.2 (A3 Justifier mkII)

Chip 10: Weapons Handling 0.99 955 -> 2043 (250 PED)
Handgun: minimal damage 9.4 HA 1.4 CHA 3.8 max range 30.4
Rifle: minimal damage 12.3 HA 2.0 CHA 4.4 max range 66.3

Chip 11: Combat Reflexes 0.99 711 -> 1975 (239 PED)
Handgun: minimal damage 9.4 HA 1.4 CHA 3.8 max range 30.4
Rifle: minimal damage 12.3 HA 2.0 CHA 4.5 max range 66.3
+ 1 Health Point

Still working on the conclusion...

I still need to investigate the influence of IRD and Anatomy.

If anyone chips one of the above skills please let me know the before and after results.

BTW if anyone chips anything please let me know the before and after like I have documented in this thread.

Ird and Anatomy dosent affect prof.standing at all, they are damage skills, read my post

I have found a formula that works for my rifle skills. I still need more data to validate it. Since I have not unlocked many hidden skills I cannot determine their impact.

General skills
Coolness - 0.0% -
Courage 1,195 10.0% 120
Dexterity 1,039 10.0% 104
Perception 881 10.0% 88
Serendipity - 0.0% -
Combat skills
Aim 1,921 10.0% 192
Combat Reflexes 1,976 5.0% 99
Combat Sense - 0.0% -
Commando - 0.0% -
Marksmanship 2,097 10.0% 210
Rifle 2,575 26.0% 670
Weapons Handling 2,046 5.0% 102
Construction skills
Laser Weaponry Technology 3,004 14.0% 421 2,004 Capable (2000 - 2200)
BLP Weaponry Technology 19 14.0% 3 1,587 Adept (1400 - 1600)
Gauss Weaponry Technology 1 14.0% 0 1,584 Adept (1400 - 1600)

I am sure this formula is not correct but I am close. If I use the same values for handgun I get a too high value for it. So I need some fine tuning.

I made a few screenies a while ago when my primary prostanding changed to Adept.

General skills

According to your formula I had 1643 avg skills at the time, but that's about 100 short to be adept.
I'm closed to the next primary prostanding change (HA already changed to 2.4 so must be close to experienced now) so I'll post it here too.

I was thinking that also secondary and tertiary prostanding changes are interesting, as long as they're also ranged combat. I'm going to pay attention to those too from now on.

Ps. if you want the screenies for verification let me know.
