Yes, but that option didn't exist when i wrote the tool and i didn't know it would be so easy for Witte to add it. The advantage of scraping is that i can accept partial names and actually get several different skill sets, but since i haven't made use of that besides letting the user put in a shorter (but uniquely identifying) subset of his avatar name, it's not too important.

Mostly, it's that i put some effort into getting the scraping set up and don't like to abandon it now and start over on an easier implementation.

Very good tool, but sometimes the optimizer is not optimal...

here two screenshots I took, ok only small difference but maybe a little error in the code.




Cost 1271 Ped using all skills




Cost 1231 Ped with LWT disabled

i think that is b/c instead of LWT it takes anatomy as the replacement...but, as you say, it should be different with the first one as it might be cheaper to chip partial anatomy partial lwt?

Hi Raffaele,
I'm aware of this behavior and it is a result of the way the algorithm works. This kind of differences fall into the expected error margin. There are ways of improving it to make it more accurate, but this would make the number of calculations much much higher.
Anyway, I'll go over the code again, just in case, but I think this kind of "error margin" is acceptable for a realistic usage of the tool.

The tool should not be used to get values with accuracy up to the last PED. In your case, I would not even bother chipping MMS, for instance. I would read your results as:
- chip ~60 ped of RDA and
- chip ~36 ped of LWT or ~30 ped of anatomy
and be prepared to spend around ~1.2k-1.3k ped.

First thx for the quick answer
Second it was not meant in any way as a critic at your very good tool
Third a error of 3 to 4 % is surely not bad
Forth I noticed this behavoir some weeks ago for the first time and thought when I discovered again and again that maybe only a little error in code is responsible for it.
Fifth Cor, come one you need to skill some to get us into Top 50 skillwise.

No, I didn't take it as a critic, either... You observed a strange behavior in the tool, and reported it... hey, that's what I expect people to do and I appreciate it

mmm, i found something weird;

to find it do this: select the tab total skills

make an fictional target level, but a big one, say, 1million total skills.

press go: it will stop at 400k and some...

however, if you scroll down you will see that it only includes some skills, and leaves alot open?

the chipping algorithm will exclude (on purpose):
- skills that you have left blank or at level zero
- skills with unknown chip implant price

the rest of the skills will actually be included in the optimizing algorithm, and whenever a certain skill reaches level 16k it does not go any further because the chip tt value at these levels is not known with a reasonable accuracy.

when all involved skills reach 16k, and the specified target has not been reached, the process stops, and the result is shown in red to indicate that the target was impossible to reach.

most of this info is included in the tool's instructions... yes, i know, nobody reads them...

PS.: I just tried with my own skills and I got a limit of 1.3M total skills, for a bargain price of 109M PED.
