i have a question.

if the chipping tool was to say that it would take me 5k ped to gain the skills needed to move from lvl31 BLP pistoleer to lvl40 ... if i was to take 5k ped of ammo and go on some uber hunt how close would that put me to lvl40? has anything been done to study if this happens at all?

It will take more than 5k PED ammo to gain 5k PED worth of skills. If you want to get an idea, fill your skills in to the wiki and click on WikiTools to find your total skill value. Then, go on a 500 PED ammo hunt, add your new skill levels to the wiki, and compare the WikiTools value with what it was before. This will of course not be the same ratio as the chipping calculator will suggest, but you will see that you get much less than 1 PED skill value per 1 PED ammo. Of course, you can use your loot to reload and go out again. Whether or not you end up spending more overall than you would chipping is, of course, open-ended.

Short answer: No.

Long answer:

you will be getting loot. this means you can buy more ammo. Even if you only get 90% returns, this means you will actually be getting 50k PED for the same investment. Plus you will be getting a lot of other skills... not just , for example, in LWT.

There is also the time factor. 5kped investment= instant.

500kPed ammo, with a p5a+a104 =1000 continuous hours of shooting. = 3months

Definitely, you will have level 40. You might also bump your agility 5-10 points (depending on what it is now).

i don't know if i understand what you're asking, but it should be totally obvious:
- enter your skills
- enter the target level for the profession (or the cost limit)
- click go
- you get the result (total cost to reach the target) and, in the table below, you get all the skills involved and how much do you need to chip for each one (target skill level, chip size, and chip cost). if a skill line is blank, that skill doesn't need to be chipped.

Weird.

I've just SkillScanned myself and the scanner told me that my HP is at 126.11,
BUT when I loaded all the skills to the Chipping Optimizer as a .csv file it
told me that I have 127.3 HP?

umm, help?
