Hi jdegre,
Looks like the scanner mixes up mineral sense and beauty sense, as I suddenly have exactly the amount of skills in Beauty sense as I used to have in Mineral sense and that skill is not in the .csv file anymore... and I am a miner, not a beautician so never unlocked Beauty sense. Maybe worth looking into. Thanks! /Slupor |

I'd love to see a feature to be added to the chipping optimizer:
Besides the "Chip in" and "Chip out" options, i'd like to have a "skill up" option, which calcs the ESI sizes needed for the single contributing skills, but not weighted by the skill market value and instead distributed by the (assumed) contribution of every single skill to the profession, as they would rise when skilling up (following the contribution percentage, i.e. 1 PED TT ESI steps, ditributed among the skills in the same % they contribute) Ofc, opting out single skills will be ignored, and unlocks not yet opened will get their % share but their effect ignored in the calculation. I hope my explanation was understandable. ![]() |

sorry for taking so long to reply; just to let you know that i did not ignore your request. i started tampering with the algorithm to implement what you want and it is almost done. i turned out not to be as straightforward as i thought initially. Quote:
when you're chipping out, and you want to get the ESI size, take the green number and divide by 0.9. |

Hi JDegre,
I import my skills from Entropedia. Today, the following skills dont seem to be coming across. Melee Damage Assessment Armor Technology Attachments Technology Blueprint Comprehension Gauss Weaponry Technology Manufacture Armor Manufacture Attachments Manufacture Tools Particle Beamer Technology Tools Technology Wood Carving Wood Processing Explosive Projectile Technology Material Extraction Methodology Texture Engineering Texture Pattern Matching Would you please check what could be causing this, when you have time? |

this is because i'm using the skill name "Explosive Projectile Weaponry", which is the same as EU is using at the moment. Entropedia uses "Explosive Projectile Technology" which was the old name. So the "import" feature in the chipping optimizer stops with an error when it finds an unknown skill. The fix should be to edit Entropedia and change the skill name. |

I'm very close to unlocking Commando and decided to play around with the chipping optimizer to see what I'd need.
After uploading a fresh skills.csv generated with the skill scanner, it told me that with a 13.25 TT Handgun chip would take me from 8482 to 8502. Much less than I expected (and it rounded 8481.something to 8482). So I browsed the chips on auction and it turns out the estimation by the optimizer is inaccurate. Even the highest TT chip now available (15.19) would only take me to 8498 (from item info screen). These are the final skill value I would get and TT value for the 9 handgun chips currently listed (starting handgun is 8481): 8483 - 1.88 8486 - 4.20 8489 - 7.40 8493 - 10.53 8494 - 11.93 8496 - 13.32 8497 - 14.28 8497 - 14.91 8498 - 15.19 (Still a very useful tool!) |

yeah, this is a known issue. the function that converts skill levels to TT values gets more inaccurate as you go to higher skill levels. the inaccuracy is more evident using small chips at high skill levels.

I read through part of the original thread were numbers were gathered and the discussion of what kind of function was used... somewhere on the second page I realized I was out of my league ![]() Question: How accurate is it at estimating the skill level I need to reach a given profession level? Specifically, it said I needed to go from 8482 to 8502 Handgun in order to reach level 70 BLP Pistoleer. |
