I'm pretty sure it is just estimated by some player, and then being established as "fact".
Seems from this test data that the gain is not fixed, but there is some random element in it too. 1/20 would give 6.15 in gain, so also with a low variance, like 5.75-6.15 or so, you would get the result above. |

Before i heard the 1/20th rule i was asking my soc to time how long it took for a regen and how much they got. I believe at the time i estimated that it was 1/20th every 20 seconds, but i don't know that i ever got it exactly. It was later that i heard the 1/20th rule.
So, i don't know if it has changed or if we have been overestimating how fast we regen all along. |

So Mindark found a not so obvious way to tweak (nerf) something that gave colonists an edge.
My prediction is that they will continue to nerf it until it's down to 3-4%, just in small steps. And then there's the HP - starting out with almost 90 is way too much; any newbie can do just as well with 50 - expect it to reach that level in about ten years time. Running speed is way too fast, we have TP chips now, it will be reduced to the same speed of swimming and then naturally the swimming speed will be cut in half after that - swimming has to be slower then running. |

Thanks Stryker for confirming what I thought when I looked at my HP regeneration level ...
My thoughts regarding this is that I dont mind MA trying to force more money out of this game (lets face it, every company does just enough to keep the customer bound to them ... all other operations are charitys) ... The introduction of the completely useless (for hunting purposes at least) Grenade launchers is an example of such ... And now that I think about, I do remember that I counted my regeneration once when I hit 100hp and it was 5hp every time so the nerf must have happened recently. Guess I will have to gain a few more hp before getting 6 all the time ![]() ![]() ILW |
