I have been doing some powerfisting for some time now, just for fun ;-) Then today i had a look at how much HP gain i gives and saw that it gives nothing. In fact non of the major meele skills like HMW, LB, SB, PF, LMW give any HP. Does this make sense when things like mining skills give HP?

And comparing those who have skilled pretty high in melee to those who have skilled high in ranged, ranged ppl generally have higher HP. |

Of course there are factors to take into account with this:- a) There possibly/probably is a chance wave form being applied to the damage 'luck' b) There possibly/probably is a chance wave form being applied to the rate of skill gained 'luck' So what you end up with is a broken and randomized double helix of skill gain ability over time. This is not fact however. To the opening poster, Melee Combat and Courage are indeed the most important skills for a Melee hunter. This has always been the way. If you are looking for fast gains and therefore increased HP within Melee, look to use the highest dmg/sec weapon you can get you hands on but consider carefully the dmg/pec value also. Viewing all Melee weapons in Entropedia: Main and sort on dmg/sec will help you see these option and then quickly refer to the economy of the item, of course taking into account markup on (L)imited items. If HP is your main goal.... crack out the Pistol and the Rifle and shoot up Calypso, ranged hunting has notoriously given much faster HP gains throughout. |

Personally I think that skill gain isnt about the dmg/sec you put out in the universe, but rather about ped/sec (although this usually co-relates to dps
), in relation to all professions.Therefor a 100 clicks on OA-101 will give you alot more skills than 100 clicks on Basic Filters, even though they're the same tier of bp. Using amps while mining will give the same effect. Maybe why you experience that you're not gaining skills in the same pace with PF as you are with fex. rifle is simply because you're using a lower cost/min weapon when it comes to PF? If you're for example using a MK2+103 you'll be putting out ~5.2 ped/minute while the best ped/minute you can get with a powerfist (unless Im mistaken) is ~3.15 ped/minute with the Manticore Deathbringer ME. Powerfists simply doesnt seem to be the way to go if you want high skill return per minute, its more about silently grinding your teeth while endlessly bashing some poor snablesnot to death. If you want to skill melee at a high pace I would suggest going after Longblades since these can actually match the regular setups in rifle/handgun in ped/minute (or dps). Good luck ![]() |
