I have a question regarding the bonus skill gains you sometimes get after killing a mob. These gains are always related to the weapon you have been useing to kill the mob.
Since I often use different weapons to kill a mob (eg. tag with plasma rifle, take over with laser carbine, take down health with laser pistol and finish with tt knife), I have gotten up to 7 different skill gains after 1 kill (rifle, LWT, pistol, melee combat, shortblades, RDA and marksmanship for example). Suppose another hunter would have killed the same mob only by using a laser pistol, and he would have gotten just an increase on LWT as kill bonus, would this LWT skill increase be as big as the sum of the 7 bonusses that I got ? If not, it would be a good way to use as many different weapons as possible to kill a mob, in order to increase your total skills. PS : I do know that specializing in 1 weapon type is preferred by most players, since it allows you to upgrade your weapon faster and hence become more efficient (more eco or faster kills). But for players who want to increase their total skills volume, my question is valid I think. Last edited by Quint; 01-23-2008 at 12:21. |

I do not test case you described exactly, but I tryed to check how my skilles progress after killing mobs and getting skill bonus. I find out that skill bonus is not the same all the time on one mob, some bonuses are bigger and some smaller.
So I guess that first of all system generates total exp you got as bonus and then spread it between used skilles during combat. |
